My name is David, and I am an Assistant Professor in the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

My research explores corporate strategy in platform ecosystems. Specifically, I study how platforms’ strategies (e.g., governance, diversification, acquisition) influence complementor activities across platforms and business segments.

Empirically, I focus on the rideshare and food delivery businesses and leverage multiple datasets including 1.3 billion trips made by taxicabs and rideshare services in New York City or 10 billion transactions made from 28 million credit/debit cards in the U.S.

Other than research, I like re-watching Friends series, running, and soccer. I am also a big fan of EDM festivals.
