Becoming an expert in using HRIS requires consistent and extensive use. To maximize its benefits, HRIS should be established as the single source of truth for all HR data. This ensures that every aspect of HR operations is aligned and consistent. Utilize the wealth of data available in the HRIS for making informed HR decisions. By integrating and relying on comprehensive HRIS data, organizations can enhance accuracy, streamline processes, and make more strategic decisions.

One thing when we assessed senior leadership role is the ability to navigate in the crisis situation. The true character of a person will be shown when he/she is facing a crisis. How they tackle those crisis, what strategy put in place, how to communicate to their subordinates, their stakeholder, and even to their CEO. How about when people randomly came to them and ask for their help, how is their reaction? Can they become a catalyst to remain calm and influencing others as well? For me that is the real treat of real senior leadership... Thought?

My organization adapt "work from anywhere" (WFA) concept. If we do this right, it will surely boost the work-life balance, its even better the productivity is actually going up, as we don't measure people by the working hours, we always stick to the result. First, make it clear to the team that only result will be measured, not effort. TO achieve the result we have company's values to adhere and also code of conduct. Everything else will be the autonomy of the team, i.e. how to conduct meeting, hoe to do 1 on 1, weekly catch up, etc. They can decide by themselves as long as within the overall guidance from HR.

In my experience, accepting team members mistakes, not punishing them because of it, and navigate them to learn from those mistakes, will give them a confidence to be able to make decision. Create a safe environment to our team members to make mistakes and learn from it.

In my experience, becoming Business Partners for HR is something that not easy at all. HR will need to understand not just understand but fully aware how the business work, how the business generate the money, what the business issue especially in people (recruiting? learning? rewarding?, and many other things). So in my opinion, the part of understanding the business is really crucial. Understand the business first then we can talk how we can become an added value as HR in the business. If you don't understand the business, learn it first.
