Count On Us Recruitment
Staffing and Recruiting
Transforming for Family Carers the return-to-work experience around their caring commitments
About us
In Ireland, a "carer" is defined as someone looking after a person who needs support because of age, disability or illness (including mental illness). As a carer you cannot be engaged in employment, training or education courses outside the home for more than 18.5 hours a week. Fiona O'Neill, founder of Count On Us Recruitment is a Family Carer herself. Through her own journey of being a Family Carer it means that even if she wanted to, she cannot work full time. She decided she wanted to help Family Carers in a similar situation to her and hence Count On Us Recruitment was born.

𝐋𝐞𝐭'𝐬 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐲 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐒𝐄 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐬 "𝐮𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐥" Tens of thousands of Family Carers across Ireland gave up full time employment to care for sick, aging or disabled loved ones at home. Although they can't commit to work full time, they can work up to 18.5 hours per week as per government criteria. In this recent Irish Independent article "the HSE expressed particular concern about the national vacancy rates among speech and language therapists (43%); occupational therapists (41%); and psychologists (43%)" It's time for the Health Service Executive to include 18.5 hour contracts in their recruitment strategy and hire Family Carers who are qualified OTs, psychologist and speech & language therapists. All avenues by the HSE have not been exhausted - Come on HSE; let's talk! Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/gCaFHg_3
