Summer Holidays are officially over in the House, and that means it's time for our wonderful siblings staying with us to head back to school! 🎒 But we couldn't let them go without one last hurrah! This week, we wrapped up the summer holidays with a splash—literally!🌊 30 of us took to the road (and the canal) for an epic Viking Splash Tour!! 🚤 From the laughter to the splashes, we had an epic time together 🤗 A HUGE shoutout to the incredible team at Viking Splash Tours for donating this unforgettable experience, picking us up from the House, and bringing us back in one piece (just a little wetter)! 🙌 Goodbye, summer! Hello, school adventures! 📚

New House, first look 👀 And this week it's our brand new, Ground Floor communal Kitchen and Dining area! This space is going to be the heart of our House, where families come together to share meals, stories, and support 🍽💖 Why is the Kitchen Area so important? In this space, food will be shared, memories will be made, and our incredible volunteer chefs will work their magic every single day 👨🍳✨ We know that food is one of the most important things to keep our families going strong during challenging times 💪The kitchen is where families find comfort and strength, whether it's through a hearty meal or a simple cup of tea with a new friend at the end of a long day ☕ We can’t wait for the delicious meals, joyful celebrations, and countless midnight chats that will fill this space. Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming back the Rabbitte family, from Co. Galway! The full family made the trip who to present us, and CHI at Crumlin, with an cheque worth an amazing €48,515, raised through a Tractor, Truck & Vintage Road Run in Turloughmore 🚜🤩 Cathy & David's daughter, Caoimhe, was born with a serious lung condition in 2022, and during her 12-week stay in Crumlin, The Ronald McDonald House became their "home away from home." 🏠💛 Our House gave them a safe, comforting space to stay close to Caoimhe and her brothers, Dáithí & Iarla, providing the support they needed during such a tough time. We are so grateful to the Rabbitte family for their generosity and bringing our House home with them through this incredible fundraiser! Thank you 🤗🚜

That’s where this cosy little corner comes in! 🧘♀️ The Quiet Room is all about creating a peaceful space where Mums & Dads can take a breather, catch their breath, and recharge their batteries.
