What a way to spend a rainy Wednesday afternoon - today, some of the Liberty IT team joined us in a productive refresher session at IdeasLab to revisit their successful collaborations with University of Galway. Colleagues from University of Galway Career Development Centre, Paul O'Rahilly, and University of Galway School of Computer Science Enda Howley, also joined in to offer a comprehensive perspective on their partnership and to explore potential future opportunities. 🧠 In the afternoon, Jenny Mullery and Caoimhe Walsh facilitated a dynamic brainstorming session with #LibertyIT, where our students Xinyu Zhang, Ethan O'Brien and Anıl Sena BAYINDIR shared their valuable insights and experiences working with the company through our programmes. It was an inspiring day, and we are excited to see the continued growth and innovation that will stem from our ongoing collaboration with Liberty IT. In particular, we are delighted to be a part of the Signature Innovation Partnership between University of Galway and Medtronic which led to a unique collaboration this year. 🚀 IdeasLab x Medtronic 2023-24 :: The Grand Challenge 🌟 This year, we partnered with #Medtronic to launch the Medtronic Grand Challenge, that provided a platform for students to showcase their creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills to ‘Design a Customer Innovation Centre of the Future’. The challenge culminated in our teams pitching to judges on-site in Medtronic's Parkmore facility and the winning teams were presented with their prizes by Dara Calleary, Minister of State for Trade Promotion, Digital and Company Regulation. :: Mentorship and Support 🤝 Our collaboration with Medtronic also included invaluable mentorship from their team of experts.
