About

Brian is an architect with 20+ years experience in architectural practice, teaching design and entrepreneurship in the AEC field. He is also an acknowledged thought leader on sustainable architecture and has led sustainable architecture practice Solearth for over 20 years. He has designed award winning projects from bespoke new houses to cultural buildings, and masterplans, in Ireland, USA, Europe and Asia.

In 2019 he founded Opoplan / Open ADU the worlds first automated virtual architect system that automates lot (site) analysis and design for new family houses and accessory dwelling units/dwellings (ADUs).

Educated in TU Dublin (DIT & TCD) and University of California Berkeley, Brian's writings have been published extensively and he has carried out complex research under the EUs 7th and Horizon frameworks. He was one of the few accredited APs for the Living Building Challenge deep green design protocol.
