About

My research focuses on the sociology of addiction, gender, performance enhancement drugs, sexuality, public health and environmental sustainability. I also have interests in the politics of alcohol policies (with focus on alcohol industry's roles in policy process) and the role of media in mediating young people's alcohol (mis)use.

My research also draws on media communication tools, exploring plastic pollution in Nigeria with the potential to impact on awareness and change in behaviour.

Currently, I am researching social drinking practices among adolescents and young adults; gendered transgressive drinking, (de)normalisation of drinking, commercial determinants of health and recreational drug use among young adults, etc.
