In my role as an Architectural Technologist & BIM Coordinator at C+W O'Brien Architects, I had the opportunity to contribute to the Parkside residential development. This development consists of 750 residential units, strategically distributed across five urban blocks. The blocks comprise five apartment buildings and two duplex buildings, with varying heights ranging from one to nine stories.
To enhance efficiency in the construction process, the project incorporates several aspects of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC). These include the use of pre-fabricated balconies, standardized apartment layouts, pre-fabricated MEP units, standardized window types, pre-fabricated bathroom pods, and precast panel structural elements throughout the entire project.
The residential units themselves consist of a diverse range, including Dublexes, studios, one-bedroom units, two-bedroom units, and three-bedroom units. Show less
