Stomacare life hack! Many ostomates employ the “human oven” technique before applying their stoma care adhesive. This involves bringing the hydrocolloid adhesive to body temperature before it is taken out of its packaging by placing it close to the skin for a time. This allows the pressure sensitive hydrocolloid adhesive to form a stronger bond with the skin when applied, preventing leaks and improving weartime. This works particularly well with moldable hydrocolloid adhesives. MED 2159H with moldable hydrocolloid is designed to enhance the performance of ostomy pouching systems, particularly in challenging situations such as retracted stoma, scar tissue and weight gain, where fitting of a pouch is more difficult.
