Dishonest, rip-off overbilling

Terrible customer service, with dishonest, incomprehensible policies. I had two motorcycles and sold one before buying a replacement. I sent all the required forms and because Allstate does not send updated paperwork that reflects the status of your policy, I only found out more than two years later they were billing me for a bike I no longer owned. They dug in their heels and made endless excuses - refusing to rebate me the extra expense added to my policy, then when I filed a complaint they finally removed the 3rd bike from my policy, and the charged me MORE for one less bike. The agent who was a pin-head was clearly trying to fabricate a rationale for this saying, if I had fewer bikes I would spend more time riding, which is absurd, as if I could potentially be riding more than one motorcycle at a time. Dumping them and going to Geico. Allstate are crooks.

Allstate Denies Claims for Profit

In June 2024, our vehicle was proceeding through a parking lot when a pickup truck backed out into the back passenger side. It happened so quickly, my husband had no time to notice - let alone react. Rather than accept full liability for their customer's negligence, Allstate opted to take 80% liability and hold us responsible for the other 20%. They had no police report - police refused to come out. Neither vehicle had a dash cam, and witnesses weren't available. Since we couldn't provide either, they decided to go the cheap route. The repairs were $6,000, and they begrudged 20% because they could. There's not enough policing of insurance company practices. We now have a dashcam since it's clear that unscrupulous companies like Allstate are more concerned with keeping their bonuses and profits than making customers 'whole' again. Google this company, check the BBB, and you will see Allstate regularly denies valid claims. The behavior continues unchecked.

3 MONTHS AFTER THE STORM

My whole neighborhood was turned upside down by the huge storm we suffered on April 20, 2024. Unfortunately the largest tree fell on my 12x16 shed, completely destroyed it AND ALL THE ITEMS INSIDE. Long story short here we are MORE THAN 3 MONTHS LATER AND TODAY,
Lashara Edwards with Allstate, TELLS me that 95% of my belongings/tools/machinery will not be covered because these items are considered to have been destroyed from a 'POWER SURGE'!!! NONE OF THE ITEMS WERE PLUGGED INTO ANYTHING BECAUSE THE BUILDING DID NOT HAVE POWER! this is great coverage working for me... wow.. un real... ALLSTATE NEVER SENT ANYONE OUT, FINALLY AFTER 6 WEEKS OF ALL THE ITEMS BEING EXPOSED TO THE RAIN, HEAT, ETC they tell me they want to send a specialist out to 'inspect' these items. I am not 'in good hands' and neither is anyone else who have Allstate. WOW...How is this legal? Without a shadow of doubt, I AM SURE, Allstate is undeniably the WORST INSURANCE PROVIDER. May God be with us, because Allstate sure as *HAIL* is not.
Bagheera Franklin 'inside claims manager' and Lashara Edwards, 'claims specialist' ARE AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE. ALLSTATE WILL NEVER RECIEVE ANOTHER PENNY FROM ME. STAY AWAY, SAVE YOURSELF FROM THESE LICENSED THEIVE'S.

I’d like to start You are not in good hands with Allstate with saying this

I’d like to start with saying this, I’ve been with Allstate for over five years now, and then all of a sudden my rates almost doubled. The commercials and that comforting voice where they say, you’re in good hands with Allstate, let’s get this right, you better check yourself. You are not in good hands with Allstate. I went with another insurance company, same exact policy, same exact coverage, same exact deductible, $221 per month cheaper…
You really should get a second quote and find out for yourself. “YOU ARE NOT IN GOOD HANDS” insuring anything with Allstate.

My goodness, my God

I was really not surprised that Allstate, and (National General) an (Allstate company) in Salem,VA were run by the same couple. On a scale of one to ten. One being yuck… Three is my score on customer satisfaction. I hope they treat customers better than me. Never one single lapse, I always paid on time. Learning customer service is not a lost art. Train your employees on how they can help customers and not make them feel uncomfortable when they call. They lost my business over attitude alone.

After being with allstate for over 40…

After being with allstate for over 40 years. I was denied roof replacement. I was only offered repais. After my deductible of 1,000.00 it wasn't eligible for them to repair. Allstate in my opinion is a insurance company that is very disloyal to their customers. It is obvious that because the increase in the severe storms activities our properties will be damaged. Allstate Insurance company made me regret that I am with them .
Think twice about being there customers.

Outrageous hike in the new premium!…

I've been an Allstate customer for a long time. The price for auto and home insurance and customer service was good...until now. We bought a new car - the same model as our old one. The model is the same, features are the same, drivers (good ones) are the same, milage for a year is the same, we have winter tires, anti-theft lock, keep it in garage, so the only difference is that it is a new car. But the premium went up by $1000!!!!!!!!!!! We spoke with two agents, but they said they can do nothing and it seemed they didn't care if they loose the good standing customer. We started shopping for a different insurance...and CAA, and TD auto insurance gave us a quote of approx. $200 higher than we have now.

Horrible Service

My policy came up for renewal. I had just made a payment at the end of May, so wasn't expecting my renewal payment to be due in 14 days on 6/14/24. I went to make a payment the week of June 24th, only to find they canceled my policy 2 weeks after my last payment. They stated policy renewals must be made exactly on the renewal date or the policy is canceled and you cannot reinstate it for a YEAR! They never called me, I received no text messages, they just canceled it and I was driving around with no insurance unbeknownst to me. Horrible Horrible service! You are NOT IN GOOD HANDS WITH ALLSTATE!!!

I wish I read reviews before joining…

I wish I read reviews before joining Allstate. I missed a payment in may which was paid a week later. They said I owed 850 dollars. I didn't understand why. They said I needed to pay May's and June's. So June 6 I paid. They sent me a letter saying I still need to pay more. I paid another 300$ they still said it was insufficient. I tried calling the billings department but waiting 1.5 hrs was too long for me to be on hold so I hung up. They said I had until Jun 30 to pay everything. So I called again to try and get through to them on June 27. They said my policy was cancelled on June 23. I told them the letter they provided as the termination date of June 30. So they returned some of my money. They still have 150 of my money plus the "last" of the deposit that was given when I joined. They said I still owe 175 dollars which when I asked how they came up with that fee they kept saying to speak to billings. So they transfer and I'm on hold for another hr in which I gave up. They are scammers. They cancelled my policy so now I'll have that on my insurance record.

Rude, unhelpful customer service

User interface easy enough. Hard to talk to a person and when I finally get in contact they were rude af. Didn't even let me finish my question before cutting me off to say that I can't actually schedule a time for pickup unless it's just "tomorrow sometime" since they're soooo busy. So they're option to schedule online is really just bs. Guy kept cutting me off, didn't want to answer my questions about when or if they would call me. Almost canceled my request to come get my car "immediately" when I'm not next to my car, so I needed to know how far in advance they would call me. Also didn't want to hear any details about where my car was located, and said the info in the app was sufficient. So much lack of communication. Idk how it's too much to ask for them to just LISTEN when that is literally their whole job!

Garbage company

Garbage company. They have friendly agents, if you can stomach the 30 min wait, but it's a facade. They do not have any intention of helping you or have any authority to do so. They can only explain where they have increased your policy premiums (which you can already see for yourself), but not why.

I had a simple hail insurance claim last year. I called and got a claim # from them but then was not provided any further service. I finally called them at the end of the year and they simply apologized and moved on like nothing happened, although I had hail damage on my vehicle for the year. At renewal time, I received an INCREASE in my premiums for their lack of service! I called to complain and of course the agent could not do anything about it, but escalated it to a manager who would call me back the next day. NO CALLBACK. Liars.

6 year Allstate history:
Home - 22% arbitrary increase in 2024 premium. 94% over 6 years. No claims.
Auto - 4% increase in 2024 premium. 25% over 6 years. No at-fault claims.

Allstate is the worst. I should know I was a customer for 44 years.

After being with Allstate for 44 years (@$264000 in payments), they denied payment for a new roof (@$5000-$8000). Allstate asked if I had water damage inside the home yet. No new roof until your home is ruined inside (my roof is 21 years old). The only claim I ever made in all these years was for water damage to my home which caused mold, Allstate denied payment. On a $3000 repair bill, I had to call the state insurance inspector to get Allstate to pay only $600. Allstate also records every phone call inquiry as a claim so do not call them ever. They NEVER pay and because every inquiry is a claim, the claims do not go off your record for 3 to 5 years, making it unlikely another insurance company will take you without higher costs. Allstate has never paid on a claim EVER until I got the state involved and then I only got 20% back. I have waited the 3 years for my phone call inquiry claims to go off my record. It is time to switch to ANY other insurance company. Allstate is the worst.

Company is too big to care about every…

Company is too big to care about every day people. Needed a repair man, they canceled last minute. Customer service didn’t have efficient solution. They were indifferent and needed me to wait another few days to try and work out a different plan. This has happened before with them. It’s not worth the money to deal with them. Allstate do better if you are at all capable….

Worse insurance company out there!

Worse insurance company out there. they are literally taking people's money and destroying their lives. They should not have legal power to treat people however they feel like it. *I did contact them and I sent them more documents than needed but they are still being inconsiderate and ruthlessly trying to mess me up.* Worst experience of my life by far!

I wish I had visited this site before…

I wish I had visited this site before ever buying into All State. All the reviews sound exactly like what I've gone through. How can a company as big as All State get away with treating people so horrible? The things they pull doesn't even seem legal. Instead of making their client feel better, they make you feel worse, robbed and dejected.

This company is ripping poor people…

This company is ripping poor people off!!!
Their deductible vanished from deductible to actual monthly payment.
Never made a claim with them in 6 years but some how my car insurance keeps going up every six months.

WORST INSURANCE COMPANY EVER...ZERO…

WORST INSURANCE COMPANY EVER...ZERO STARS...STAY FAR FAR AWAY...THEY TRIED TOTALING MY CAR AND SELLING IT AT AUCTION WITHOUT MY PERMISSION...THEY DIDN'T EVEN WANT TO GET IT LOOKED AT BY A BODY SHOP...THEY STARTED TEXTING AT 6AM LITERALLY LESS THAN 10 HOURS AFTER THE ACCIDENT TO GET ALL MY STUFF OUT OF MY CAR BECAUSE THEY WERE TAKING IT TO THE AUCTION HOUSE IN ANOTHER STATE.. VERY PUSHY DEMANDING AND RUDE!!! MY CAR IN FACT WAS REPARABLE FOR A PRETTY MINIMAL AMOUNT...SEVERAL CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS ARE AGAINST THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE RIPPING PEOPLE OFF ON THEIR CAR VALUES AND MAKING CAR VALUES WAY LOWER THAN THEY REALLY ARE...BEWARE OF ALLSTATE TAKING YOUR CAR...THEY DONOT HAVE YOUR BEST INTEREST IN MIND THEY ARE ONLY LOOKING OUT FOR THEMSELVES!!!
