AI-powered design to code platform
About us
Anima’s mission is to streamline design to development, automatically. We believe that great UX makes everything better. We want to bring a better experience to those creating it. Why does the world need Anima? Taking design to production is hard. Automated AI-powered design-to-code will change the way we build software. The future of Front-end: Designers can now translate design to code in a single click. - Need a website? Designers can create one directly from their design tool. Sketch, Adobe XD, and Figma supported. - Need to go from a prototype to a POC asap? No coding required here as well. For engineers, it's a coding assistant, keeping developers in control. - Less grunt work, pushing-pixels, and design that is lost in translation.

In a world where Front-end is fully automated, who will own UI in production? AI continues evolving rapidly, and this question keeps us up at night. In their article, Jennifer Li and Yoko Li of Andreessen Horowitz discuss design-to-code and generative UI: https://lnkd.in/dTJ8Bp3K At Anima, we see a future where the lines between design and development blur, thanks to AI-driven automation. Imagine an AI agent that knows your company’s design system and Front-end code inside out—one that can turn a design, an image, or even specs into fully functional, well-tested, bug-free code. In such a world, who owns Front-end? Who is operating that AI agent? The answer could be either technical architects, product teams, UX teams, or a new position that doesn’t exist yet. It’ll take years before such a shift happens, and developers still own production code end-to-end. Today, Front-end developers are critical for anything more than a template-based no-code website. Our goals for the design-to-code challenge are also changing, as we build toward this future. Until today, we aimed for 100% pixel-perfect fidelity when converting a design into generic code, that could suit everyone. However, with AI capabilities, we can do more. We can customize and personalize the code. When building complex products on top of existing code, we want to aim for 100% of the right functionality, fidelity comes second. At Anima, we are paving the path toward AI transformation from design to code that mimics the way humans are doing it. Anima Frontier, announced 10 days ago, transforms design to code with the understanding of the existing code base. We now generate code that uses design system code components and follows the developer’s coding styles and conventions. If your team is building Front-end, and you wish to automate it and deliver faster, join us to shape that future: animaapp.com/frontier #A16Z #AI #GenerativeUI #Anima #UXDesign #FrontendAutomation #FutureOfDesign #AITransformation

Today, we are excited to announce Frontier 🎉 An AI coding assistant for Front-end, by Anima. animaapp.com/frontier Frontier is a VSCode extension that understands how you code. It has your design system code in mind when producing new code. GenAI brings a huge promise regarding code automation. It could code very well and understand our coding conventions and references. That said, taking GenAI to production is no easy task - It is slow, suffers from hallucinations, generates bugs, requires much context, and needs security guardrails. I'm excited to say that for me, Frontier feels like magic ✨ It codes like I code in most cases, and there's a lot more coming. Amazing work Anima team 🏅 Frontier is now available in closed beta. Request early access and give us feedback to make an impact and help us build the future of Front-end ❤️ Blog: https://lnkd.in/d4QtDivf Request early access here: https://lnkd.in/dcu-TzKt
