  • Israel Company Concluded Heat as a Service (HaaS) Agreement With European Pet Giant Brenmiller Energy, an Israeli company that provides sustainable thermal energy storage solutions, concluded a 12-year Heat as a Service agreement with Partner in Pet Food Hungaria KFT (PPF), one of Europe’s leading label pet food producers. Brenmiller Energy creates electricity through rooftop solar panels, which it uses to boil water to make steam. That steam in turn heats crushed rocks. When there’s electricity demand but the sun isn’t shining, the heat can be used again to boil water. Steam from that water produces clean electricity through the use of a generator. Brenmiller will design, build, own and operate a 30 MWh bGen ZERO system for PPF’s pet food manufacturing plant in Dombovar, Hungary.  The company was founded by Avi Brenmiller in 2012. The company is traded on NASDAQ and has raised over $100m. Source: https://lnkd.in/dNNsVxGY

  • 2 Israeli Startups Together Create AI and Robotics-Powered Model for Sustainable Agriculture Fermata, an Israeli startup that focuses on applying data science and computer-vision solutions for agriculture, and agRE.tech, an Israeli startup in the sphere of agri-photovoltaics (dual use of land for agriculture and solar-power generation) partnered to create an AI and robotics-powered model for sustainable agriculture. Fermata integrated its core product, Croptimus, with agRE.tech’s solar-powered autonomous robotic system, which fully automates the crop management process. This partnership brings a sustainable and cost-efficient method for crop screening. It addresses the shortage of skilled farmworkers who work tirelessly to check each crop and allow growers to shift their focus to mitigating threats before they worsen. Croptimus can detect a wide range of threats, sending automatic updates to growers and agRE.tech’s operating system, enabling the robots to spray the appropriate treatment to the exact problem area autonomously. - Fermata was founded in 2020 and based within the Mikveh Israel Agriculture School compound in Holon by Valeria Kogan. - AgRE.tech’s A²PV operating system leverages robotics, manipulators, sensors, controlled PV panels, and cutting-edge AI. • Ukrainian University Developed Fire-Resistant Glass Technology The team of Professor Serhiy Varvarenko, Institute of Chemistry and Chemical Technologies of the Lviv Polytechnic National University developed fire resistance glass technology. The liquid-filling composition fills the interglacial space of the double-glazed unit. As soon as the temperature rises to 150–250⁰C, this layer changes its properties and turns into protective material, which allows the glass structure to maintain its integrity without holes or cracks, as well as its thermal insulation ability. Ukrainian manufacturers who produce special-purpose double-glazed windows could freely implement it. In comparison with foreign technology, this glass has a beneficial price.  This project received grant support from the National Research Fund of Ukraine.
