Isle of Man TT Races RIDERS ENCOURAGED TO TORQ Dan Kneen Charitable Fund partners with Rock2Recovery to create TORQ: a mental health and wellbeing support service for the TT paddock. It’s good to talk, we all say. Sadly though, we’re not always very good at following our own advice; especially when our mental health is suffering. One group looking to spark the conversation – at least among the hundreds of people who race, work or volunteer at the TT – is the Dan Kneen Charitable Fund. They have partnered with the mental health charity, Rock2Recovery, to create TORQ: a ground-breaking welfare service available to anyone affected by a serious racing incident on the TT Mountain Course. Filling a current void in rider health and welfare, TORQ will strive to create positive change when it is needed the most. This may include the provision of refocusing support for competitors coming to terms with serious injury or the mental health issues attributable to long periods of recovery; coaching for the friends and family of competitors who have suffered life-changing injuries; or assistance for those sadly coming to terms with the sudden loss of a loved one. The service forms part of the recently announced drive to further enhance medical standards at the TT and is fully endorsed by the event’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr Gareth Davies, and Clerk of the Course, Gary Thompson MBE BEM, who not only identify with Rock2Recovery, but also recognise the specific expertise and specialist experience their staff will bring to the paddock. Visit Isle of Man have launched their new marketing campaign "The Isle of Man, There's More to iTT" as part of the strategy to increase visitor numbers to the Isle of Man, both during the Isle of Man TT Races and afterwards - link to watch in the comments 🔗 Ensuring the sustainability and the future of the Isle of Man TT Races is a key pillar of the event's delivery and changing the schedule to increase racing and spread visitors across the entire event, to remove the middle weekend bottleneck has been part of that. This campaign highlights that visitors of the TT, whether they are motorbike fans, or their family that joins them, can attend the final weekend of the racing, watch The Senior TT and then enjoy a diverse holiday whilst still basking in the post-TT atmosphere. Paul Phillips, Head of Motorsport, explains this: "The Senior TT is our FA Cup Final, our Grand National, our Wimbledon Final, and we were staging it on a Friday when most people are at work and can’t travel or watch TV. Most of the visitors have traditionally left the Island before the main race, which is bonkers and can’t be left unchallenged. "Success for this is a disruption to that traditional travel pattern we have seen over previous years. It’s not about bringing more people at any one time, but about growing the overall attendance over the event period, growing the bed nights and growing the economic benefit the Island derives from staging the event. "And in broadcast terms, it is about growing our audience and providing fans of the TT, both on event and around the world a better and more accessible event." #isleofman #sustainability #futureproofing #theresmoretoitt

So you may have seen...we've launched a new marketing campaign! The campaign, ‘The Isle of Man, There’s More to iTT’, is a collaborative effort between Visit Isle of Man and the Department for Enterprise Motorsport Team to encourage bookings for the 2024 TT Races. Viewers are introduced to an anonymous biker designed to capture the attention of potential visitors whilst showcasing the Island’s extensive offering in a comedic and captivating way. Deborah Heather, CEO of Visit Isle of Man, commented: ‘The Isle of Man TT Races have long been hailed as one of the most thrilling events in the world of motorsport, attracting thousands of visitors to our shores annually. With this new campaign, we want to invite visitors to not only experience the excitement of the races but to also immerse themselves in everything that makes the Island unique. ‘Central to the campaign is the message that the Isle of Man is more than just a destination for motorsport enthusiasts, and we hope it will appeal to a wide variety of audiences. Regardless of whether you’re a fan of the TT Races, the juxtaposition of a leather-clad character enjoying a beachside sauna is hopefully going to get people laughing and inspire interest in what else the Isle of Man has to offer beyond the racetrack. We hope residents and visitors alike will engage in the campaign and enjoy following along its exploration of the Isle of Man.’ Those wishing to visit this year’s races can find travel packages available through the TT’s Official Travel Partners, with options for both ferry and air travel. Accommodation is also available through the Visit Isle of Man website and Homestay Isle of Man: https://lnkd.in/eMvkSaYA Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/eVaBeG2f #TheIsleofMan #TheresMoreToiTT

Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) is well known at the Isle of Man TT Races. The only true factory team still running, this year comprised of John McGuinness MBE, local talent Nathan Harrison, and new team-mate Dean Harrison. Honda also supply a number of vehicles to support the safe running of the event. Most recognisable of these are the Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP provided for the Travelling Marshals. In action since 1935, the Travelling Marshals have had many iterations. What started as two men stationed at the start/finish and at Ramsey to look for riders, now comprises of 8 first responders capable of reaching any part of the course within two to three minutes. Honda has played a vital role over the last couple of decades, supplying a variety of machinery including VFR750s, VFR800s, RC45s, Blackbirds, VTR1000 Firestorms, Pan Europeans and numerous versions of the legendary Fireblade. Last weekend the latest CBR1000RR-R was put to the test on the Jurby Race Track as our marshals continued their preparation for the 2024 event. Thank you to Honda for the use of the machines in what is a skilled and essential role at the TT.
