About us

CultureForTheWin was born from the powerful collaboration of two like-minded individuals, Sirisha and Harish, who shared a common mission to empower companies through the transformative power of culture. Sirisha, an independent consultant, focused on helping founders articulate their company culture, while Harish, co-founder of Choose To Thinq (CTQ), concentrated on assisting leaders in reinforcing their culture and values. Realizing the potential of their complementary skills and expertise, Sirisha and Harish, who are also life partners, joined forces in 2019. Their collaboration combined Sirisha's culture articulation expertise with CTQ's culture reinforcement capabilities, enabling them to help companies both articulate and reinforce their unique cultures. As demand for their innovative approach to culture consulting grew, Sirisha and Harish decided to spin off the culture consulting business into a new venture, CultureForTheWin, in 2023. Domino's Pizza: Turning the Tables in the UK Domino's Pizza in the UK faced a formidable challenge in the late 2000s. Known primarily for fast delivery rather than quality, the brand struggled with a poor reputation among British consumers. This perception was a significant barrier, as UK customers increasingly valued quality in their dining choices, even in fast food. Recognizing the need for a drastic change, Domino's UK embarked on a transformative journey that would not only revamp its product but realign its entire operational ethos to quality and customer satisfaction. The turning point came when Domino's UK decided to listen—really listen—to their customers. They launched an extensive feedback initiative that involved social media listening, customer surveys, and direct feedback channels. The message was clear: the quality of the pizza was not meeting expectations. Armed with this insight, Domino's made a bold move. They publicly admitted their shortcomings in quality and committed to making substantial changes, a risky strategy that could have alienated customers further but instead began to rebuild trust. Domino's UK then undertook a comprehensive overhaul of their pizza. This wasn't just a minor recipe tweak; it was a complete reinvention. The company improved every element of their pizza, from the freshness and source of their ingredients to their dough, which was now hand-stretched and never frozen. They introduced a guarantee—great pizza or your money back. This promise was a tangible manifestation of their new commitment to quality. However, changing the product was only part of the equation. Domino's knew that to truly transform their image, they needed their entire team on board. To achieve this, they overhauled their training programs, focusing on the importance of quality in every step of the pizza-making process. This training was not just for new hires; even seasoned employees were retrained to ensure everyone met the new high standards. The results were dramatic. Customer satisfaction scores began to climb, and sales followed. Domino's UK's transparency about its past faults and clear communication about the steps it was taking to improve resonated with customers, turning many previous skeptics into loyal patrons. Moreover, Domino's didn't stop at the product; they continued to innovate with technology, enhancing their ordering app and improving delivery times. Each step reaffirmed their commitment to quality and customer service, helping to cement their newfound reputation. #StoriesOfAlignment

Lincoln's Masterstroke: The Team of Rivals When Abraham Lincoln assumed the presidency in 1861, he faced a nation teetering on the brink of civil war. Unlike his predecessors, Lincoln crafted a cabinet comprised of his former rivals—men of profound ambitions and sharp intellects. This strategic choice laid the groundwork for one of the most effective cabinets in U.S. history, which he famously dubbed his "team of rivals." Lincoln's cabinet included formidable figures like William H. Seward, who anticipated being the real power behind a meek president, and Salmon P. Chase, who was already eyeing Lincoln's job. This setup could easily have led to dysfunction, but Lincoln turned it into a strength. His leadership approach was characterized by several key strategies that not only managed but harnessed the diversity of this group. Firstly, Lincoln demonstrated an unparalleled level of empathy and respect for his cabinet’s differing opinions. By actively listening and valuing each member's viewpoint, he fostered a culture where all felt heard, significantly reducing the friction that could have arisen from competing egos. Secondly, he strategically placed these rivals in positions that played to their strengths. For instance, Seward, with his vast experience in international relations, was appointed as Secretary of State. This allowed Seward to focus on preventing foreign intervention in the Civil War, a crucial element of the North's eventual success. Lincoln also continually guided his team towards a shared vision. Despite their differences, he kept them focused on the ultimate goal of preserving the Union. This common purpose helped to align their actions and policies, ensuring that personal ambitions did not derail their collective objectives. Through these efforts, Lincoln not only prevented potential sabotage from within but also created a powerful collective that was instrumental in the Union's governance and success during the Civil War. His ability to transform a group of political rivals into a unified team is a testament to his political genius and a profound lesson in the power of strategic leadership and vision. #StoriesOfAlignment

Nubank's Fintech revolution in Brazil Before Nubank entered the scene, the Brazilian banking sector was notorious for its bureaucracy, inefficiency, and high fees, creating a frustrating experience for consumers. Traditional banks, with their cumbersome processes and lack of innovation, failed to meet the evolving needs of a digitally savvy population. This was the world that Nubank sought to change. Founded in 2013 by Colombian entrepreneur David Vélez, Nubank began in a modest office in São Paulo. From the outset, Vélez was clear about his vision: to simplify banking for Brazilians using technology and design, and to deliver customer-centric financial services. This vision was ambitious, given the dominance and inertia of established banks. One of Nubank's first and most significant departures from the norm was its leadership hiring strategy. Rather than sourcing talent from within the banking industry, Vélez focused on individuals from diverse backgrounds, including tech and customer service, who shared an entrepreneurial spirit and were aligned with the vision of transforming banking. This approach brought fresh perspectives into Nubank and avoided the entrenched thinking that plagued traditional banks. To keep everyone aligned with its core mission, Nubank instituted weekly alignment meetings. These weren't just routine check-ins; they were dynamic sessions where team members from various levels were encouraged to voice opinions, challenge processes, and suggest innovations. This level of openness was rare in traditional banking environments, where decisions typically flowed top-down and employees rarely felt empowered to influence strategy. Moreover, Nubank’s competitors, burdened by legacy systems and hierarchical structures, struggled to adapt to the changing landscape. Their inability to quickly innovate or realign their operations meant they couldn't offer the same level of customer satisfaction or adapt to market changes as swiftly as Nubank. The tangible impact of Nubank's aligned and empowered team was evident in its product offerings, starting with the launch of a no-fee credit card managed entirely through a mobile app. This product was a game-changer in the Brazilian market, where high fees were the norm and digital solutions were nascent. The credit card was met with massive customer approval, and within three years, Nubank reached a million users, a feat that took traditional banks decades to achieve. Nubank's success story is a testament to the power of clarity of vision, the right team, and consistent alignment. By building a culture that valued innovation and customer feedback, Nubank not only transformed the banking experience for millions of Brazilians but also established a new benchmark for service in the financial industry. #StoriesOfAlignment
