    Pinnapuram PSP, India – The nation's premier fully integrated renewable energy initiative has entered its final phase, marked by a significant milestone achieved in late July 2024. ANDRITZ successfully dry spun the first unit, a testament to the enduring support and collaboration with our esteemed client, Greenko, whose proactive support and engagement is beyond commendation. The unit was spun up to the rated test limit along with the Static Frequency Converter (SFC) and completed the operation in synchronous condenser mode. This momentous event was achieved in the presence of our client and partners. The successful implementation of the dry spinning process with SFC for the initial unit sets the stage for optimizing the commissioning schedule for subsequent units. This achievement potentially establishes a new benchmark for the installation and commissioning timelines of future projects. We are proud to announce that the dry spinning of Unit 1 was accomplished within a remarkable seven-month period from the readiness of the barrel. This success is attributed to numerous cycle time reductions in the pre-assemblies of the guide apparatus, Main Inlet Valve and pressure test, stay rings, and spiral cases. In this moment of triumph, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our client Greenko, colleagues, and partners for their enthusiastic contributions.     Boras HEP, India: A milestone in India’s clean energy journey In June 2024, a purchase order was secured to supply generating units for the new Boras hydropower project in India. Moreover, ANDRITZ will oversee comprehensive technical services including supervision, installation, and commissioning of these units. This significant contract was entrusted to us by our esteemed client, RVR Projects Pvt. Ltd. The Boras project forms an integral part of the Chinki Boras barrage combined multipurpose project, undertaken by the Narmada Valley Development Authority (NVDA) under the Government of Madhya Pradesh, through an EPC contract. RVR Projects Pvt. Ltd., based in Visakhapatnam in India, has been awarded the EPC contract for this ambitious venture. With the new Boras HEP contract, ANDRITZ remains committed to supporting RVR Projects Pvt. Ltd. in advancing this crucial project.     ANDRITZ showed a largely stable business development in the first half of 2024. Compared to last year, revenue decreased slightly, while profitability showed a slight increase, and net income remained stable. Order intake dropped considerably from the high level of last year, which is mainly due to the continued absence of major capital investments by customers in the pulp & paper and metals industries.     Hydropower plays a significant role, contributing to approximately 51% of all renewable electricity generation. It represents about 15% of total electricity production globally. Notably, no country has achieved 100% renewables without including hydropower in their energy mix. As of 2023, the installed hydropower capacity reached an impressive 1,416 gigawatts (GW), resulting in a generation of 4,416 terawatt hours (TWh).     Rangit-IV HEP, India – In 2022, ANDRITZ was awarded the complete electromechanical package by our esteemed client NHPC Ltd through a competitive bidding process. Initially, this project was awarded to Jal Power, an independent power producer, and later transferred to NHPC. Our journey with this project started back in 2012 when ANDRITZ was awarded the electromechanical works and completed some supplies. In 2022, we faced the challenge of revitalizing components that had been preserved and stored for nearly a decade. When work resumed, the need for refurbishment arose, leading us to transport key components such as the main inlet valve and thrust head to our Prithla factory for meticulous reconditioning by our dedicated team. In a significant recent achievement, we completed the manufacture and assembly of the stator and rotor for two units, successfully lowered them into the pit in May 2024. This milestone paved the way for the first unit to be boxed by July 2024, with subsequent units following in due course. The proactive support from our esteemed client NHPC has been instrumental in reaching these milestones. We are delighted that this prestigious project, upon completion, will contribute an additional 120 MW to the grid, underscoring our commitment to providing clean and sustainable energy while safeguarding the environment. #andritz #hydropower #renewableenergy #ForTheChange #engineeredsuccess #energy #india

    Myntdu Leska-1, India - Originally commissioned in 2009 by ANDRITZ, in collaboration with its valued and esteemed client, M/s. MePGCL, Meghalaya, the Myntdu Leska-1 project has stood as a beacon of engineering success. Fast forward to March 2024, ANDRITZ was honoured once again with the responsibility of repairing the generator for Unit 1. The journey to this accomplishment was far from easy. Our dedicated execution team braved a myriad of challenges. Accommodation issues and irregular power supply plagued our efforts. The inclement weather, marked by torrential rains, triggered heavy landslides, making commuting to the project site an arduous task. Yet, despite these formidable obstacles, the unwavering support of our client, MePGCL, and the indomitable spirit of our team ensured that we completed and boxed up the unit well ahead of the scheduled six-month period. Our commitment to excellence shone through, earning us a heartfelt letter of appreciation from MePGCL, who were truly delighted with our exemplary performance. Looking ahead, we eagerly anticipate many more fruitful collaborations with MePGCL.     On the 6th and 7th of June 2024, under the esteemed auspices of NTPC and CEA, a distinguished two-day national workshop on the standardization of technical specifications for Pumped Storage Projects (PSPs) was convened. This event unfolded against the backdrop of a projected surplus in variable renewable energy generation—wind and solar—underway and into the near future. ANDRITZ had the distinct honour of being invited to this prestigious workshop, seizing the opportunity to showcase its profound expertise and capabilities in PSP technology. ANDRITZ presented its views on the standardization of electromechanical equipment. It was emphasized that such standardization would be instrumental in maintaining quality and reducing overall project time and costs during execution. In the pursuit of expedited project schedules, ANDRITZ firmly advocates for an Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) approach, which is deemed essential for the successful implementation of PSP projects. At the heart of this approach lies the crucial development of trust and openness among all stakeholders, which is pivotal for the seamless execution of a project from inception to completion. Embracing our commitment to the environment, our Operations & Maintenance (O&M) teams at the Pare and Dikrong (Panyor) project sites in Arunachal Pradesh recently celebrated World Environment Day 2024 on June 5th with the inspiring motto, "Everyone Plant One"! Our valued customer, NEEPCO, joined hands with us in this green initiative, collectively planting over 150 saplings. Remarkably, 80 of these saplings were nurtured in our own nursery from seeds of fruits enjoyed by our staff.
