Yesterday, as Chair of Hilleman Laboratories, I had the privilege of joining Dr. Krishna Ella, CEO of Bharat Biotech in Hyderabad, India, to officially launch a breakthrough oral cholera vaccine (OCV) developed by Hilleman Laboratories, aimed at protecting against one of the newest strains of the disease. This achievement is a powerful testament to the dedication and relentless pursuit of everyone involved to advance scientific innovation and promote health equity. Most importantly, it will fill a drastic need for more supply, as the burden of cholera globally rises, especially in low- and middle-income countries. I want to extend my deepest thanks to Dr. Ella for his unwavering commitment to addressing the unmet needs countless lives, who will be impacted by the promise of increased cholera vaccine supply. This serves as a testament to what we can achieve by working together. I also want to commend Raman Rao, CEO of Hilleman Laboratories and the entire Hilleman Laboratories team for their invaluable contribution to this success story.
