Dive in! “Hi, I’m Amandeep Mittal, and my journey at Disney+ Hotstar has been nothing short of extraordinary. With a background in Electronics Engineering and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management, I’ve spent 14 years navigating the tech world. Fun fact: I was shortlisted for the Indian Air Force after class 12th, but the universe had a different plan for me! I joined Disney+ Hotstar in September 2017 as the lead on the Food & Beverage vertical in our Ads team. Fast forward seven years, and I’m now an Executive Director, having led diverse verticals like Online, Handsets, Travel, and SMBs. From starting as a Senior Manager, I’ve witnessed our Ads business scale 10X. Being part of shaping the OTT category in India and revolutionizing how advertisers engage with audiences has been a thrilling adventure. 🚀 Big Bets on People and Ideas: At a time when mobile web access was a challenge and the app economy was just emerging, Star India took a bold leap by launching an OTT app that transformed video content consumption. Our philosophy centers on investing in people and ideas.  We trust our team with significant responsibilities and empower them to achieve greatness. I’m proud to be a testament to this approach, having been given the opportunity to tackle larger mandates and contribute to our success. 🤝 Support and Mentorship: Working alongside some smartest minds and receiving guidance from outstanding leaders has been a highlight. As a core committee member for #Hackathon2024, he's here to share some behind-the-scenes excitement: “Wow, what a ride! 🛸 Disney+ Hotstar Hackathon 2024 was an absolute triumph! From three engaging days ⭐⭐⭐ to productive nights, this event sparked incredible creativity. As part of the hackathon committee, we brainstormed ways to increase engagement and foster cross-team collaboration. One problem that stood out to me was that while some people had great ideas, others were skilled at executing them, but they couldn't always find each other. That's when we developed 🤝 the 'Find the Match' initiative, which brought together diverse teams and sparked epic cross-functional collaborations! While everyone was burning the midnight oil hacking away, it was up to us to keep the fun factor high. And what better way to do that than with memes? We kicked off a hilarious meme contest called ‘Meme-orable Moments,’ and once it started, there was no turning back! One of my favorite memes featured people trying to uncover the identity of our Slack bot, with a meme saying, ‘Wait, it’s a human behind the bot 🤖?’ and an astronaut replying, ‘Always has been 🧑🚀.’ Overall, the energy and engagement were through the roof! 🙌 With 45 submissions from 134 participants across various teams, diverse groups came together to craft brilliant solutions—it was teamwork at its finest. ✨ A massive shoutout to all the participants, supporters, and my fellow organizers and most of all our leaders who live and breed this #Innovation culture. You all made #Hackathon2024 an unforgettable experience.
