Team Kaveri 2 received the eLets “Technolgy Excellence Award” at the India AI summit held in Bangalore on 12 July 2024.

I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Suresh Khadakbhavi, the CEO of Digi Yatra Foundation, at the India AI Summit organized by Elets Technomedia along with Govt of Karnataka, recently held at Bangalore. He shared Digi Yatra’s remarkable journey which started before Covid. As some of you might already have experienced, Digi Yatra offers a seamless, contactless, hassle-free, and secure experience for passengers at airports in India. The service ensures that passengers no longer need to present their tickets, boarding passes, or physical identity cards at many checkpoints, minimizing manual intervention. Impressively, Digi Yatra does not store customer data. Since commencing operations on December 1, 2022, at Delhi, Bangalore, and Varanasi, Digi Yatra has expanded to cover over 30 airports, potentially reaching 90% of air travelers. They have around 4 million users. Mr. Suresh Khadakbhavi also revealed some exciting future developments. They plan to incorporate e-passport-based enrollment, automate departure and arrival immigration border controls, and expand coverage to international destinations. The summit's agenda covered pivotal topics such as Revolutionizing Public Administration, Building Robust AI Platforms, and Operationalizing GenAI in Government and PSUs. I found the presentations by industry leaders particularly enlightening, providing profound insights into AI's role in shaping our future and driving innovation. It offered valuable insights on how various state govts are investing on AI & what profit they have already started gaining because of the change. Elets Technomedia recently organized the India AI Summit in Bangalore in collaboration with the Department of Electronics, IT, Biotechnology, and Science & Technology, Government of Karnataka, and the Karnataka Innovation and Technology Society (KITS) as Host Partners. This premium event brought together industry experts, thought leaders, and policymakers to delve into the transformative power of Artificial Intelligence across various sectors in India, in alignment with the broader vision of the India AI mission. Key discussions at the AI summit focused on critical questions aimed at accelerating AI's advantages: 1. How can we match or exceed human accuracy with AI? 2. How can we drive results at scale using AI? 3. How can we build organizations that effectively leverage AI? The projected impact of AI, as shared during the event, is substantial: - AI is expected to contribute $15.7 trillion to the global economy by 2030. - By 2025, 75% of enterprise-generated data will be created and processed at the edge. - AI utilization is anticipated to increase productivity by 40% by 2035. - 97% of business owners believe that Generative AI will benefit their businesses. I had the privilege of hearing Mr. Ryan D'Souza, Country Manager - HPC, AI & Nonstop Solution at HPE, discuss Hewlett Packard Enterprise's (HPE) remarkable work in the area of Artificial Intelligence and commitment to sustainable AI. HPE's ongoing dedication to reducing the carbon footprint of all its products and its goal to become a net-zero enterprise across its entire value chain by 2040 underscore its leadership in driving industry-wide change. It was a great opportunity to meet the HPE team at the event. The event was also graced by Shri Priyank M Kharge, Hon'ble Minister of IT and Rural Development & Panchayat Raj Departments, Government of Karnataka. He highlighted Karnataka's various initiatives, including several Center of Excellence in the areas of IoT, cybersecurity, agri-innovation, and a collaboration with Indian Institute of Science on AI and data science at ARTPARK and many other new initiatives.
