#MSEDCL #MahaVitaran #GreatMove #TrulyOpenAccess #SolarPowerDemocratised #JaiMaharashtra A much awaited and anticipated move by #GoM to adapt the Guidelines recommended by #GoI for Open Access Solar Energy Plants. Two major policies that will expand the Scope of Open Access Green Energy tremendously in Maharashtra: 1. Consumers minimum requirement to avail Open Access Green Energy lowered from 1 MW to 100 kW and 2. Aggregation of multiple connections within the same electricity circle. This will truly democratise the availability of Solar Power for MSME units under the Open Access Green Energy scheme. The aggregation concept will allow small units (like Bank ATMs) to aggregate their demand within one electricity circle and avail of Open Access Green Energy. Exciting Times ahead for Solar Parks!! A Big Thank You to Maharashtra Government and Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co (Msedcl) #BringHomeTheSun #AaoApnaSurajBanaye

Joint Venture Agreement with Fenfeo: We are delighted to announce the signing of a Joint Venture Agreement with Fenfeo Automotive Private Limited, Coimbatore (www.fenfeo.com) to set up a Electric Vehicle Charger manufacturing unit in Coimbatore with an installed capacity of 15,000 Chargers per annum. A Joint Venture Company will be set up under the Agreement, with EPIC owning 76% of the Equity and Fenfeo owning 24% of the Equity. Fenfeo currently has an impressive pipeline with original EV manufacturers that can be exploited once we have the JV facility up and running by early 2025. On a full year basis, this JV should conservatively generate gross revenues of Rs 15 crores per annum at 80 percent capacity utilisation. SIVASUBRAMANIAM P , Founder and CEO of Fenfeo said, "This is an important milestone in Fenfeo's journey in becoming a quality player of substance in the India EV Charger market, which is predicted to grow at a CAGR of more than 40% from 2024 to 2030 to reach approximately USD 6 billion. We have spent the last few years conducting intense R & D work in this field and we believe that we now own one of the best and most efficiently designed hardware, firmware and software that fuse into a world class EV Charger. Our association with EPIC will enable us to not only scale up our operations on a Pan India basis, but will also enable us to continue our R and D efforts to keep pace with the technology enhancements in the dynamically evolving EV industry." Commenting on the JV Agreement, Harshal Gunde, Director of EPIC said "It is our stated objective that EPIC will play a significant role in ensuring that EV Charging will ultimately be sourced from Green Energy sources like Solar, Wind, Bio-Mass etc. Towards this objective, our Management thought it prudent to be a part of the EV Charger Manufacturing eco-system in order to pioneer our Industry's effort in providing Green Energy to power EV Chargers." #CircularEconomy #Cradle2Cradle #RecycleReuse We have a long way to go as a Nation to ensure Best Practices to become a Circular Economy. E-Waste is a major concern. With the expansion in Solar Energy generation capacities, we will now have to create a robust ecosystem to Recycle tonnes of discarded Solar Panels in the near future. Similarly, with the proliferation of Electric Vehicles, we will have to bring regulations that will govern the Recycling of batteries that power these EVs, and create an ecosystem for this too. Both these Industries must evolve a plan sooner rather than later to regulate and monitor this e-waste Recycling. Read more at: https://lnkd.in/d3GAjQfq

#Sustainability #GreenFuture #BatteryRecycling #360DegreeEconomy #CircularEconomy #EpicThoughtSeries #ETS1 Lithium-Ion Battery Recycling: The world is shifting towards sustainable growth to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and mitigate climate change. Lithium-ion batteries power up portable electronics and Electric Vehicles, and have become an essential component of this transition to sustainability. However, the rapid growth of the battery market raises concerns about the environmental and social impacts of lithium mining, battery disposal, and recycling. Current State of Lithium-Ion Battery (LIBs) Recycling: Presently, a large portion of LIBs, about 95%, end up in landfills without recycling, while only 5% undergo the recycling process. The lithium-ion battery recycling market in India is expected to grow significantly, reaching close to $15 billion by 2030, showing an annual growth rate of 21.6%. In 2021, the market size was $3.8 billion. Improper disposal of LIBs through landfilling and ignite poses environmental and health risks. Effective recycling will not only provide secondary raw materials for cell manufacturing domestically but also help in averting health hazards. Challenges: 1. Technical complexities in recycling lithium-ion batteries 2. High costs associated with recycling 3. Limited infrastructure for collection and recycling Opportunities: 1. Closed-loop recycling to recover valuable materials 2. Creation of new business models and job opportunities 3. Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and environmental impacts What Next?: 1. Government/Regulators must consider enacting legislation that will regulate the collection and disposal of used Batteries. 2. Technological advancements need to be made in the processes involved in the recycling with the help of sustained Research & Development. 3. Tax incentives must be provided to the Energy Industry to make the Battery Recycling business viable for the private sector. ************************************** Compiled by Abdussalam Usmani, Project Engineer, Epic Energy Limited

#Budget2024 #MSME #MSMECreditGuaranteeScheme One of the outstanding proposals in the Budget announced yesterday is the MSME Credit Guarantee Scheme. Manufacturing MSMEs regularly face the issue of collateral whilst raising Debt from Banks. As mentioned by the Hon FM during her speech, this Credit Guarantee Scheme will facilitate borrowings for MSMEs who do not have collateral to offer for large borrowings upto Rs 100 crores. A hugely welcome step, subject of course to implementation in letter and spirit.

#Budget2024 #EnergySecurity #GreatSteps We heartily welcome the announcements on Energy Security made by the Hon Finance Minister in the Budget Speech yesterday. Energy Audits are a great precursor to Energy Efficiency. Pumped Storage is definitely one of the most efficient and cost effective Renewal Energy Storage options. Boosting it with Policy Initiatives is a timely move. And the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijlee Yojana is a blockbuster all the way! Exciting times ahead.
