About us

India aspires to become USD 5 trillion economy and a global economic powerhouse by the years 2024-25. To support this goal, we need a robust insolvency system that ranks amongst the best in the world. Institutions established within the framework of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 are supporting this national aspiration, ably. For this, India must continue to build new institutions which contribute to the development of a dynamic insolvency eco-system and an insolvency industry of global standards, and complement the goal of making India amongst the most attractive free market economies in the world. The establishment of the Insolvency Law Academy by Sumant Batra, a thought leader on insolvency and a lawyer of global eminence, stems from this vision and goal. An independent not-for-profit institution of excellence, the architecture of Insolvency Law Academy comprises of a think tank, research centre, a school, various centres, forums and platforms, each of which will be build and developed over a 3-year period, to contribute to the realisation of this vision. The Insolvency Law Academy is a unit of Sumant Batra Insolvency Law Academy - a public charitable trust registered under The Indian Trusts Act, 1882.
