Traditionally, companies evaluate their benefits by benchmarking their policies against their peers. Monika Gunalan, Postman's Head of People Ops (APAC) had other plans — she started with their employees. This helped Postman build a more meaningful policy. Two instances: 😷 During the pandemic, Postman was one of the first companies to offer COVID insurance, COVID vaccinations, and mental health support to their employees and their dependents. ⛱ Postman introduced sibling covers, after data indicated that most employees had retired parents and minor siblings. This benefit has been adopted by over 26% of the team. Postman’s benefits also reflect their commitment to their diversity goals – with an LQBTQ+ friendly policy covering live-in partners, infertility treatments, differently-abled children, oral chemotherapy and more. Today, Postman's part of the 2% Club, and we're proud to be helping them craft a culture of care for their team. #EmployersWhoCare Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/guXbrxDp

Insurance terms in dog math, feat. Snoopy. 👇 Sum insured: You give one bone to human. In exchange, human gives you 30 bones when there is emergency. 🦴 Dependent: You have friend dog. Friend dog doesn't have bones. So you make deal with human to give friend dog bones from your total bones quota. Friend dog is now dependent dog. 🐩 🐕 Co-pay: You want four bones. However, human only gives you three bones and tells you to hunt for the fourth bone yourself. 🦴🦴🦴 Deductible: You're entitled to ten bones, but you don't get ten bones until you contribute two bones. 🦴🦴 Waiting period: Human doesn't give you bone for one year because you said you have a voracious appetite for bones. 🔴 🦴 No claim bonus: You've been a good boy so you get extra bones. 🐶 🦴 Portability: You don't like human because they got a cat, so decided to move to another house. You take all the bones you've buried in the garden and bury them in your new human's garden. 🐈 ❌ Read more about insurance terms here: https://lnkd.in/gRM-Vw_6 #petsofPlum | Jahnavi Koganti

Pursuing a side project? Experts and leaders believe it could work for both you and the company you work for. 🍰 📚 Shruti Sah [brand marketer + baker + curator of Cubbon Reads] not only realized her experiments with baking mirrored her experiments with content marketing, but also found others benefitting by bringing their other interests into their work life. For example: 🎾 Rahul Misra [executive director at Morgan Stanley + Wimbledon umpire] found that adjudicating a high-pressure tennis match gives him the stamina to focus at work. 🎭 Jayati Singh [CMO at Tally + theatre artist] observed that both theatre and marketing involved reacting to other people's cues, helping her deal with spontaneous plans and last-minute campaigns more efficiently. 🎙 Rohit Srivastav [marketer + community host at s11s ] believes his best ideas didb't come from his vertical knowledge, but in fact from moments when he was least concerned about work. If you're a manager/founder — speak to your team about their creative pursuits and empower them to express it in their work. And if you're sitting on a creative idea, hobby, or pursuit — treat this as a reminder to get started; you'll never know how it might end up coming in handy.      “There’s Clove Dental for full-blown dental procedures, and there’s Perfora if you just want to restock your toothpaste.” Read to learn how user research helped us build the best personal health stack. 👇 Addressing unexpected out-of-pocket spending was the foundation behind selecting our healthcare partners for Plum Perks. From unexpected tooth implants to unforeseen blood tests, Jahnavi, our UX researcher, observed that users were most affected by healthcare spending they didn't budget for. When she shared this with Sanjeet, our healthcare partnerships person, they both realized user psychology would play a major role in choosing our partners. They dived deep into three specific areas: 🔴 The categories: Where are they spending?   🔴 Small vs big spends: How much are they spending? 🔴 Frequent vs infrequent/one-time spends: How often are they spending? These findings helped us in two ways: 🎴 Categorization: While we've partnered with 50+ brands, distributed evenly across 5 categories — Nutrition, self-care, health, fitness, and family care. 💰 Benefits based on spending patterns: From significant expenses to mandatory ones, and from high-cost put-on-the-back burner bills, to day-to-day spends, Perks has a benefit for every requirement. Early reminder to plan your leaves well in advance: You get a five-day weekend if you apply for leave on August 16 (Friday) — Independence Day falls on Thursday, and Rakshabandhan falls on the upcoming Monday. This tweet by Sooraj Chandran reminded us of three observations made during our research for The State of Employee Benefits 2024. 📈 Companies in India have raised the bar with employee benefits — the median sum insured has increased to INR 5 lakh from INR 3 lakh, more companies are offering maternity benefits, and we've witnessed a 110% surge in companies buying insurance for the first time also invest in primary healthcare. 🌟 Employee size doesn't matter, intent does — the top 5%ile of companies offer the same type of benefits, irrespective of size. For example, a 10-people company provided the same quality of benefits as a global giant or Indian unicorn. 🦄 On that note, while global giants are bringing international benchmarks to the country, most of India's unicorns offer benefits that are at par with them. These companies are part of what we call the '2% Club', because their benefits budgets are around 2% of their total comp budget. In case you're curious, here's a non-exhaustive list of companies offering the best benefits in India: 💻  Rippling 💻 Postman 🛒 Meesho 🤝 The/Nudge Institute 📈 Groww 💳 Yubi 📈 Upstox 💻 HighRadius 🏢 WeWork India 💻 Chargebee 💻 Twilio ❤️ Tinder For detailed reading, check out The State of Employee Benefits 2024: plumhq.com/state-of-eb
