Seismic isolators, also known as seismic bearings, are specialized devices used in civil engineering to protect structures from earthquake-induced ground motions. These devices are designed to decouple the superstructure (building) from the foundation, allowing it to move independently during an earthquake. The main goal of seismic isolators is to mitigate seismic forces and reduce potential damage to the building and its contents. Let's discuss seismic isolators in more technical detail:
Types of Seismic Isolators: There are several types of seismic isolators, each with its unique characteristics and mechanisms for absorbing and dissipating seismic energy. Common types include:
a. Elastomeric Bearings: Elastomeric bearings consist of layers of rubber sandwiched between steel plates. The rubber provides flexibility, allowing the structure to move, while the steel plates provide load-carrying capacity.
b. Sliding Bearings: Sliding bearings use low-friction materials to facilitate relative movement between the superstructure and the foundation. They allow lateral movement during an earthquake while providing vertical support.
c. Friction Pendulum Bearings: Friction pendulum bearings consist of a pendulum-like mechanism with sliding surfaces that dissipate energy through friction, allowing rotational movement during an earthquake.
d. Rolling Sphere Bearings: These bearings use rolling spheres to allow movement in any direction, reducing seismic forces on the structure.
Installation: Seismic isolators are strategically placed between the superstructure's base (columns or walls) and the foundation (footings or piers). The isolators may be integrated into the building's design during construction or added as retrofit solutions to existing structures.
Isolating Motion: During an earthquake, the ground shakes, generating lateral forces that are typically transmitted to the building. However, with seismic isolators in place, the building can move independently of the ground motion. This isolation of motion reduces the seismic forces acting on the building.
Energy Dissipation: Seismic isolators are designed to absorb and dissipate seismic energy. As the structure moves, the isolators deform, and the damping materials within them convert the kinetic energy of the movement into heat energy, dissipating the seismic forces.
Vertical Load Support: Seismic isolators must also provide sufficient vertical load-carrying capacity to support the structure's weight and its contents during both static and dynamic conditions.
Post-Earthquake Re-centering: After an earthquake, the superstructure returns to its original position due to the elasticity and restoring force of the seismic isolators. This re-centering ensures that the building can function normally after the seismic event.

Continuing the advantages of telescopic T series, Dingli officially launched the articulated T series booms. The maximum working height covers 36, 41, and 44 meters, and the maximum load reaches 272kg.
The T series articulated booms have outstanding horizontal reach, when the articulated boom is extended, the maximum up and over clearance is 18.8 meters and the maximum below ground reach is 9.65m, which makes the perfect machine for harsh working conditions!
In addition, the 9 articulated booms retain the core of Dingli T series - the patented innovative one-key in-situ axle expansion, which doesn't require driving to complete operation, the axle can be retracted/expanded freely in narrow spaces, and the tires will not be worn during the whole process.
