    Activities and Societies: Participation in Culfest, Sports and NCC

    I was interested in Distributed Systems, Databases and Graphics. I had special interest in Computational Geometry. My other interests included knowing about Economics and I ended up doing a couple of courses to learn basics of Economics here. Having cleared CSE with a CPI of 9.4/10 at IITK, I prepared for Civil Services and cleared it in first attempt in 1992 exam itself.

    Activities and Societies: Masters in International Development & Public Policy, with focus on Public Finance

    At Duke University, I learned a lot about Public Finance and Public Policy formulation. Evidence based Policy Formulation became a focus area for me, in addition to management of Public Finances along with Taxation. I also learned about International Development, Multilateral Aid issues and functioning of International Organizations such as World Bank and United Nations.

    Activities and Societies: As the class had students from all across the world, it gave us a wonderful setting to be part of a global learning environment.

    Financial Institutions for Private Enterprise Development(FIPED) course was very useful to expose me to the International Best Practices in the field of Micro Finance, Financing to Poor by forming Self Help Groups(SHGs), and provided me an opportunity to understand analytical methods for formulating public policy in these areas.

    Activities and Societies: This advanced course conducted by ILI (International Law Institute ) in association with Georgetown University, had students from various countries and we discussed WTO and its legal implications.

    The course was very helpful in broadening my horizon on the legal basis of WTO and underlying treaties. Multilateral trading system as it exists and its value for the overall development of the planet, was a recurring theme which was discussed over a period of two weeks besides going through legal drafts and visiting some of the agencies/firms dealing with International Trade Policy in DC area.

    Activities and Societies: Masters in Economics with First Division.

    This course made me aware about the use of economic analysis for public policy formulation. As I was involved with SEZ Act, 2005, drafting and promulgation, the fundamentals of economics learnt while doing this course were really helpful.

    Activities and Societies: At AMV, Gandhidham, I excelled in studies through constant encouragement of my teachers as well as peers. It was a nice childhood, with lot of fun and learning.
