Worked as a Professor at the School of Life Sciences, University of Hyderabad in the area of inflammation biology, specifically on cyclooxygenase and lipoxygenase pathways. Involved in setting up of ASPIRE, a section 8 company, that coordinates the activities of TBI, TIDE, and BioNEST incubation centers and also promotes innovation and entrepreneurship activities on the campus. Founder member of the Federation of Asian Biotech Associations (FABA), where he currently serves as the Executive President. Recently launched FABA Academy to help students in their career development. Served as the founder and director of the National Institute of Animal Biotechnology, an autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India.
