FAIRS system has been built for NatWest Retail and Corporate users using Oracle 8i and thick client Oracle Forms and Reports. It is used to recalculate customer accounts interest to manage for any interest missed calculations or any wrong postings or any wrong entry recalculations due to change in products or scenarios.

The NatWest Bank is now owned by the Royal Bank of Scotland and based on the RBS principles the FAIRS project has to be rewritten in Java as front end, Oracle 10G in back end and Business Objects for reporting purposes.

The FAIRS system is governed by Consumer Credit Act of United Kingdom which is being changed and will be reinforced by Apr' 08 which requires changes in the business logic of the FAIRS system. The project also involves implementing RBS Development Principles which involves Exception handling and implementation of Audit Trails.

I am the independent consultant in this project for database operations which involves migration of data from 8i to 10g, implementation of RBS Coding Principles on existing code. Writing Application Design and Component Architecture for the new features, reverse engineering the FAIRS system into a data model and database design for the new functionality.
