Train them regularly and give them assignments in which different situations and scenarios are given and how are they going to handle those situations. Give them real life situations where they work on site (maybe in a supermarket and do a role play) to understand the customer hands on.

A leadership module that I experimented and implemented successfully. My company had a product called cp fitting cleaner. I was in the market one day in a shop I saw a person trying very hard to sell his imported sanitary ware and fittings. He struggled for an hour. He got frustrated and was about to leave. I called him and took his details about his name, salary etc. I told him he could do some value addition if he sold my cleaner with his products and every bottle he sold for me would have an incentive for him. First month he sold some quantity, second month it increased and from fourth month onwards it was almost 500 bottles. The beauty of this entire exercise was he was not an employee of my company and was covering me for my targets.
