How can recruiters create more women-friendly job advertisements? Most standard job advertisements targeting women candidates, for blue / grey collar roles, lack the detailed information that women might find useful, such as exact location, job description, and working hours. Additionally, social media and audio-visual communication are not fully leveraged for outreach. To address this, GLOW program has developed a training resource to help recruiters craft more effective job ads and improve outreach efforts. Since 2020, Growing Livelihood Opportunities for Women (GLOW) has been working with ~20 companies, to sustainably place women in blue / grey collar roles by shifting companies' practices. This training can help recruiters to: - Improve candidate conversion rates by designing compelling job advertisements that can be shared on WhatsApp or other social media - Increase the attractiveness of their advertisements to women candidates by including additional details (e.g., shifting timings, insurance benefits) and media (e.g., photos, voice notes) - Improve the effectiveness of candidate outreach by leveraging tools such as voice notes and ChatGPT To access the training visit: https://lnkd.in/dFyn_aGp #genderequity #gendergap #genderdiversity #womenatwork #womenempowerment #FSGGLOW

The concept of an ecocycle draws on biological research into the closed-loop system of development, conservation, destruction, and renewal that is seen in natural (ecological) systems. The ecocycle suggests that the long-term sustainability of adaptive organizations requires that elements of those organizations undergo periodic, natural processes of destruction and renewal. The ecocycle framework is a visual depiction of where on the ecocycle different initiatives, programs, or even parts of an organization are currently operating. https://lnkd.in/dqjsCVJk #systemschange #systemsthinking #socialimpact #socialchange

In the evaluation field, there should be alignment between what systems theory tells us and how evaluation is practiced. How we define, implement and learn from evaluation should not be disconnected from what we know about how systems work. Traditionally, the field of evaluation was led by a “reductionist” view of how the world works. It was shaped by attempts to break complex phenomenon down into neat boxes and arrows, isolate variables, control for factors, and was largely draw from Newtonian models of cause-effect and directionality. The field has since become acutely aware of the limitations of the traditional approach as the tenets of complex systems that we work in have become more and more apparent. https://lnkd.in/dR22bcxk #evaluation #learning #systemschange #systemsthinking #socialimpact #socialchange

The education portfolios of many venture capital firms and impact investors are full of companies with tech-focused business models. Within the global development sector, technology is often perceived as the innovation that will most quickly transform outcomes for millions of children who come from low-income backgrounds and cannot afford high-quality education. But is technology the panacea that it’s claimed to be? https://lnkd.in/dqrcJHCQ #education #edtech #ECE #educationalforall #qualityeducation #educationsolutions #educationinnovation #socialimpact #impactinvesting

Advancing gender equity offers clear opportunity for companies to create shared value. Gender equity has been strongly linked to higher innovation and business performance. And beyond the direct positive impacts for business and for society more broadly, the benefits of reducing the gender employment, pay, and education gaps are undeniable. Globally, for example, women-headed households reinvest close to 90 percent of their wages in their households fostering improved child nutrition and higher education levels, leading to a virtuous circle of poverty decline. Yet, significant additional value for business and the wider economy could be generated through further gender equity. https://lnkd.in/dRRpjcij #genderequity #sharedvalue #corporatepurpose #socialimpact

When striving to tackle challenges associated with Early Care and Education (ECE) in communities, there are no silver bullets and shortcuts. It takes a mosaic of practices, programs, and policies. A systems approach to ECE may seem daunting, but to achieve results at scale, it is a necessity. It is also possible. Applying Collective Impact to ECE is one possible approach. #ECE #collectiveimpact #earlycare #education #systemschange #socialimpact #socialchange
