Feature Wall Paint for My Home Office
This Post May Contain Affiliate Links. Please Read Our Disclosure PolicyPaint has magical powers when it comes to home design. You can easily transform a space in a weekend or, in my case, a few hours. Last week I showed you what I did with paint to update my bedroom. Today I’m back to tell you about the feature wall paint in my home office.
As I explained last week, I decided to use paint to create feature walls in my apartment. Because I’ve been hesitant to paint my entire place, I thought this would give my rooms a homey feel with less commitment. And boy was I right.
Here is my office before.
And here it is now.
Feature Wall Paint:
Nice change, right? I decided to go with a navy for this feature wall paint. The exact color is Indigo Batik from Sherwin Williams.
I went back and forth with a few color ideas, but this navy works wonderfully with the wood tones in my credenza. it also makes the gold and brass in this space come to life. I couldn’t be more pleased.
On this new feature wall, I plan to create a functional wall of art. I picked up these two bulletin boards at The Container Store to get me started. This room would probably benefit from a mirror so that may go back there as well. Time will tell.

The lamp is from HomeGoods. The gold details and iridescent charcoal base were calling my name. I think it’s well-suited to the space.
The rest of this room is also coming together. I’ll be sharing more of what’s on the opposite wall in a future post. I did end up moving the rug from my bedroom in here. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it works.
You may have noticed that I finally hung curtains. Again, I’ll update you on those in another post. The sheers I put up are visible here. I decided to install a double rod so I could have curtains and sheers. As much as I love my big windows, having the morning sun hit me in the eyes isn’t ideal for getting work done. The sheers should solve that issue while still letting all the beautiful natural light in.
So what do you think of my feature wall paint? Quite a difference, right?
I’m looking forward to sharing more of my office with you. Stay tuned!
If looks so pretty! Great decor too!
I am planning to use this color in our dinning room. Does it have any type of purple hue?? Blues sometimes look a little purple and I don’t want that
Thanks!!
Where is your office chair and table from? I’m obsessed
LOVE the bold change!!
Nice place to work from. I have a home office, too but needs some improvements. It will be completely finished after you put some pictures on the wall.
Michael,
Since you have moved to Pittsburgh, have you heard of a place called Construction Junction? They take donated items and sell them to people in an effort to keep reusable things out of land fills. Many donated items are from houses that are being torn down. There are old fireplace mantles and bathroom fixtures but they also have lighting and other items. Check out their web page; it changes on Saturdays. You may find something there that you love. No, I don’t work for them or receive any compensation. I just like the place and we live about an hour away so we don’t get there as often as I would like. Oh, and next door is Creative Reuse. They have things for crafting and you never know what you will find.

P.S. Love the navy color; it is so you.
Gorgeous!!! How is it that everything you do is so amazingly sexy??!! 🙂 Love this color and how it is coming together.
I painted our guest room navy recently. I had to try a few different ones. They kept having a purple undertone. Did you have that problem also?
Your office looks great. It’s amazing what a little paint will do.
I lucked out with this color. It was the only one I tried and I’m really pleased with it. When you’re at the paint store, ask if the tint of your color has any red – that will likely lead to a more purple-blue.

OMG, I recently picked the same SW color to paint a feature wall in the Sun Room of my house. I have the paint purchased but haven’t had the time to do the painting. I am glad to see how it looks on an actual wall…paint chips can be deceiving. Thanks for the beautiful preview of your office.
That’s so fun! Great minds think alike. And yes, I totally hear you. It can even look different depending on the space, lighting, etc. I’m sure your sunroom will look fab once you grab a moment to paint. Good luck!

LOVE this color! I have it on the focal wall in my living room (looks amazing with our 19-ft. ceiling), and I also used it on the stripes in my office: https://www.instagram.com/p/k5cDWhIh7Q/?taken-by=unsophisticook
It’s a keeper! Love it in your space too! Thanks for sharing!
