📢 The persistence of the HPV virus is a significant concern because it can lead to serious health risks over time. When HPV infection persists, particularly with high-risk strains, it can cause changes in the cells it infects, potentially leading to the development of precancerous lesions. If left untreated, these lesions can progress to various types of cancers, such as cervical, anal, oropharyngeal, and other genital cancers To win the battle against HPV, it is essential to target the E6 and E7 oncoproteins. A very interesting article explains why HPV is able to persist, even evading attacks from the immune system: https://lnkd.in/dWU4jCdi #FARMARES #HPV Credits: Pasquale Lista

Safe and effective, they are now included in routine immunizations in 60% of WHO member states. Despite their significant benefits, some important hurdles remain, such as limited coverage. Indeed, only 13% of girls and 4% of boys in the target population are fully protected. 💊 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬, 𝐄𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 • 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬: Effective in managing symptoms, but the virus often remains latent. • 𝐓𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬: such as creams or gels for genital warts (condylomas). 🌸 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗲 #𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗖𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 🌸 Infertility affects approximately 1 in 8 couples globally, with female factors accounting for nearly 40-50% of these cases. Here’s a closer look at some of the most common causes globally: 1. 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝘆𝗰𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗢𝘃𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗲 (𝗣𝗖𝗢𝗦): is the most common cause of infertility due to ovulatory disorders, impacting 8-13% of women of reproductive age. 2. 𝗘𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘀: Affects about 15% of women, causing tissue growth outside the uterus. It can cause pelvic pain and impact fertility by affecting the function of the ovaries, uterus, and fallopian tubes. 3. 𝗙𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗧𝘂𝗯𝗲 𝗕𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗮𝗴𝗲: can prevent sperm from reaching the oocyte or impede embryo transport to the uterus affecting about 11% of women. (uno recente infertilità-pcos) 🔍 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗼𝗻 #𝗣𝗖𝗢𝗦: 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗣𝗖𝗢𝗦? PCOS is a hormonal disorder characterized by irregular menstrual cycles, excess androgen levels, and polycystic ovaries. Common symptoms include acne, excessive hair growth, and weight gain. #Diagnosing PCOS often involves the Rotterdam criteria, which assess various combinations of symptoms. This comprehensive approach helps identify four distinct phenotypes, each presenting unique challenges and requiring tailored management strategies. 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗻 #𝗙𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: PCOS significantly affects fertility due to irregular or absent ovulation. This means that oocyte are not released from the ovaries, making it challenging to conceive. Additionally, the hormonal imbalances further complicate the reproductive health. 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: While PCOS can pose challenges, many treatment options are available to help manage symptoms and improve fertility. Traditional approaches, such as lifestyle changes, hormonal therapies, and medications like metformin, have been widely used. However, these treatments can have limitations, such as side effects and varying degrees of effectiveness depending on the individual. Among the most innovative treatments recently attracting researchers' attention is #inositol, noted for its effectiveness reported in various clinical studies and its high safety profile. For these reasons, as research progresses, inositol is becoming a novel approach for many women with PCOS worldwide.
