Informazioni

I am currently a fixed-term assistant professor at Politecnico di Milano and lecturer for the BSc course 'Fluid Machines'. My focus is on developing advanced optimization and uncertainty quantification methods applied to the design of non-conventional turbomachinery.

I earned my Ph.D. in "Energy and Nuclear Science and Technology" at Politecnico di Milano in 2021. Meanwhile, I spent a period abroad as a visiting researcher at Ecole Polytechnique in Paris. Beforehand, I graduated from Politecnico di Milano with a Master of Science in Energy Engineering in 2016, defending a thesis carried out at the von Karman Institute for Fluid-dynamics in Belgium.

I am also vividly interested in a variety of issues that encompass green energy solutions, design, and how the latter could be harmoniously integrated with the environment.

Progetti

  • SCO2OP-TES

A novel thermally integrated pumped thermal energy storage (TI-PTES) based on sCO2 machines can overcome the limits of Carnot Batteries with higher RTEs and less complex architecture. A TI-PTES driven by freely available heat (WH, thermal RES…) also makes EU industries/fossil-based power plants more efficient, flexible, and able to offer different grid services and facilitate RES penetration.
