The Diabetes Research Institute is looking for two passionate researchers to join our team and work on two projects:
Project 1 - Cell Therapy: Beta Cell Aging. We are differentiating iPSCs into beta cells to evaluate the presence and impact of cellular senescence during differentiation. We will characterize SASP release and test drugs that modulate cellular aging in beta cells.
Project 2 - Disease Modelling: Beta Cells and GLP1R Agonists. This project involves differentiating iPSCs from patients with monogenic diabetes into beta cells. We will analyze the resulting beta cells and treat them with a drug that is also being administered to the same patients in a clinical trial.
