The position:

The Chief Data Officer (CDO) will lead the data strategy and governance for the organization, ensuring data quality, privacy, and security. The CDO will leverage data to drive business growth, improve operations, and foster innovation.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the organization’s goals and promote a data-driven culture throughout the organization.
• Establish data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures and ensure compliance with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
• Oversee data quality, data management, and data architecture.
• Lead data analytics initiatives to provide actionable insights for business decisions, fostering the use of advanced analytics, AI, and machine learning.
• Manage the organization’s data infrastructure and technology, ensuring data integrity, security, and availability and optimizing data storage, retrieval, and distribution processes.
• Collaborate with various departments to identify data needs and opportunities.
• Build and lead a high-performing data team and provide mentorship and development opportunities for data professionals.
• Communicate data strategy and initiatives to executive leadership and stakeholders.
• Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical teams.
• Advocate for data-driven decision-making at all levels of the organization.
• Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for data-related initiatives and monitor and report on data performance and its impact on business outcomes.
• Continuously improve data practices based on feedback and performance metrics.

Qualifications:

To be eligible for the role, you need to hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree or Ph.D. is preferred). You have a minimum of 10 years of experience in data management, analytics, or a related field and a proven track record in a senior data leadership role.

• Experience with data governance, data architecture, and data protection regulations.
• Strong leadership and management skills with a strong business acumen and strategic thinking.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in data analytics tools and platforms (Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Phyton).
• In-depth knowledge of data protection laws and industry standards
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong ethical standards and commitment to data privacy and security.
