Sr Manager, Financial Reporting

Role Summary

The Sr Manager Solution Delivery, represents Finance Controllers in all technology activities, initiates and provides leadership, strategic/tactical direction and planning input on all Digital & Technology issues.

The successful candidate will be a key part of the Financial Reporting team that is responsible from a Digital perspective to close Pfizer’s books ($60B revenues and 800 Legal Entities), and for the development and implementation of new systems and enhancement of existing controllers’ systems.

They will also evaluate new technology developments and evolving business requirements and recommend appropriate systems alternatives and/or enhancements to current systems.

This position will also play a key role in advancing our Digital Strategy and driving transformational change across Finance.

Role Responsibilities

• Make technology recommendations to address business requirements in the Oracle Cloud Financial Consolidation and Close Solution (FCCS), and Oracle Cloud Data Management (DM) space
• Be able to support financial consolidation/reporting processes, intercompany reconciliations/eliminations, data validations etc.
• Oversee monthly FCCS maintenance including metadata and reporting updates, rules, mappings and logic updates and communicate to Controllership, FP&A and Digital stakeholders
• Anticipate business needs based on good understanding of business processes and requirements
• Translate business needs into high value solutions, leveraging existing systems and solutions where possible and ensuring solutions are reusable and configurable
• Ensure that solutions are aligned with the overall Pfizer Digital strategy and that requirements are reflected in the final product
• Document requirements, prepare test scripts, and implementation plans
• Ensure timely and concise communication, anticipate and manage escalation processes
• Ensure service delivery standards are maintained and work with necessary local, regional and global teams to escalate issues
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities to improve system performance and end user functionality
• Build strong relationships with Business & Digital teams to ensure effective operations and drive simplification of business processes during the close
• Maintain expert level technical knowledge in all areas of financial management solutions, industry trends, competitive offerings, and internal Pfizer offerings

• Interactions within Digital and with Finance Controllers, GBS and other teams
• Ability to manage Pfizer Vendor resources and liaison with exterior vendors like Oracle, Deloitte, Accenture etc
  
  

Qualifications

Must-Have

• BS in Information Technology, or Computer Science, or Economics and Financial Science; MS Degree with strong finance/accounting skills or CPA preferred
• Strong functional expertise in Finance and Accounting, understanding of Oracle FCCS, Oracle DM and how Oracle Cloud works, and excellent analytical skills are required to be successful in this role
• 7+ years’ designing, building, and supporting technology solutions using Oracle Cloud tools and software including FCCS/DM/Essbase/SmartView
• 7+ years’ consulting skills because they will be operating with senior finance leadership across various divisions
• 7+ years’ project management experience, working with internal and external cross-functional team members
• Ability to be flexible, prioritize multiple demands and deal with ambiguity and lead teams through complex and challenging cross-functional projects
• Previous demonstrated Business / Financial acumen
