Business Development Manager Graphic Art & Industry Print presso OKI Europe Ltd | knowledge: High and Light Production Small Format | Wide Format | Label Printing Market
Saturday, May 4th, OKI took center stage at the "Giornata del Vignaiolo" (Winemaker's Day), an opportunity organized for OKI by our colleague Massimo Zoratti. The event took place at the regional wine bar in Offida, in the former convent of San Francesco. Both Massimo and I had the opportunity to meet with the most important Marche wine producers, who were able to evaluate and experience OKI TECHNOLOGY firsthand. An incredible turnout: nearly 1000 visitors! The reason we wanted to give our post a European slant came after the statement by Massimo Palmieri, FIVI Marche (Federazione Italiana Vignaioli Indipendenti) delegate: "In the future, the event will also be held nationally and in Europe, as a valuable moment of reflection on the figure of the winemaker..." I would say long live Italian excellence!! A special thanks to Massimo Palmieri for giving us the opportunity to be one of the sponsors of this important event and above all for being able to interview Letizia Cossignani, Vice Delegate of the FIVI Marche association. A very interesting interview that we will share in the next post. 🍷✨ #OKIEurope #OKIPro1050 #TonerBianco #StampantiOKI #StampaEtichette #Premium #StampaOnDemand #Personalizzazione #Vino ##FIVIMarche #Vignaioliindipendenti

Deputy Managing Director at Baur au Lac Vins Chef Sommelier Baur au Lac ASI Best Sommelier of the World 2019
Let's talk about my personal red wine-wonderland 👉 Pinot Noir!🍷 What to know and from where to enjoy them: Pinot Noir is one of the oldest and best known grape varieties in the world, possibly highlighted by the vast amount of synonyms (almost 300) from Spätburgunder to Klevner. In contrast to most widely known red grape varieties, Pinot Noir is mostly planted in cooler wine regions. Due to its wide distribution, there are a variety of clones that differ in yield and berry sizes. One thing they have in common is their thin skin, light colour and thus low tannin, whilst sporting a high acidity. The most important wine country for Pinot Noir is France. With over 30.000 hectares the majority are planted in Burgundy and in the Champagne. For generations, the Pinot Noirs from Burgundy have been among the best and also the most expensive wines in the world. In Champagne the red grape is often pressed white (Blanc de Noirs) and is, among Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, an important component of most fine champagnes – as well as increasingly other sparkling wines around the world, even in the UK! With a great variety in styles you can find Pinot Noir in almost every German winegrowing region. It is the most important red wine grape in Germany, and especially the 'Spätburgunder' from Ahr, Baden, Pfalz, Rheinhessen, and Württemberg are very elegant and "must-try" examples. Don’t miss the regions lesser known for reds – e.g. Rheingau or Franken too. With more than 4.000 hectares (i.e. 1/3 of the entire Swiss vineyard expanse) Pinot Noir is the most planted red grape in Switzerland. A good reason why the Valais hosts the international wine trophy "Mondial du Pinot Noir" each year. Every true Pinot lover should at least once taste Pinot Noir from Graubünden; For many critics, this is “Switzerland’s Burgundy”. But there are also some very exciting Pinot Noirs hailing from overseas: In the 1970s the variety was spread in the cooler regions of New Zealand, e.g. Wairarapa. The results are cherry fruit-driven wines with a distinctive acidity and a great deal of complexity. And of course, Oregon & California (USA), Patagonia (Argentina), Coastal Chile, Hemel-En-Aarde (South Africa) and certain parts of Australia make stunning Pinots now too. What's your favourite Pinot Noir? A little tip: At Baur au Lac Vins, we currently have 1,500+ positions of Pinot Noir to discover and cherish 🤯😌 If you haven't found your favourite yet, feel free to roam: https://lnkd.in/e5Ae4uGd

https://lnkd.in/eyf4gydp Danilovsky Market (Даниловский рынок), temple of gastronomy and eat your way across Russia, Discover how Russia's vast size has led to its delectable range of flavors and traditions : Nice Food Market in Moscow. Want to try a duck burger? Cognac from Daghestan? or even Bear meat? Late 13th century. Alexander Nevsky’s younger son Daniil built Moscow’s first monastery. Commerce flourished in the neighbourhood, and so it has to this day. Fuelled by the growing financial confidence among the fledgling middle class, a gastronomic revolution engulfed first Moscow, and then other Russian cities in the 2010s bringing in new food habits and approaches to food culture , including a demand for farm-to-table produce, a passion for at-home cooking and outdoor dining, and a growing street-food scene. The present Danilovsky Market is a Soviet heritage. During his visit to the Soviet Union in 1959, the future US president Richard Nixon chose to see the market, by then already a local landmark that attracted many foreign visitors with an atmosphere of an old Russian fair. The giant yet elegant dome embodied modernist architecture solutions with complex elements and fresh massive shapes using metal, concrete, reinforced concrete, and glass. The Market Receives a Facelift The market received a new lease of life in 2015 with a facelift and a new mission that saw it selling groceries next to cooking food. The idea was jointly developed by Ginza Project, one of Russia’s largest restaurant holdings, and Stay Hungry that at the time was known for its food festivals. The renovation was completed in 2017. The attic was replaced with a mansarde roof, while the dome was rebuilt to original design with more light getting through the glass that used to be covered with wooden planks. The reorganised internal layout meant aquariums with fish and marine products were at the centre, fresh produce stalls radiating out and corners and ready-to-eat cafes encircling the floor. The Danilovsky Market made food courts a concept of fashion which spawned them all over the city, and remains a point of attraction thanks to its many events as well as mouth-watering food projects. "A novel type market is not just for selling groceries. In the 21st century, it got more social functions creating a friendly environment in and around itself for residents to interact” — Olga Kukoba, Danilovsky Market Development Director. https://lnkd.in/eKJp9S4m

Ever thought about storing your wines? Where do you start? Here are some key pointers of how best to store your wines: ▶ Try to keep the cellar at a constant temperature of around 10-15°c. ▶ Wines need to be kept in a certain level of humidity (between 70- 80%) to avoid the wine evaporating or even it oxidizing. ▶ Avoid any light coming in contact with the wines, it can change the aromas in the wine. ▶ Lay your bottles down flat so that the wine is in contact with the cork. ▶ Check to see if the air circulates well in the cellar to avoid any mould or cork damage arising. Other than that it is easy 😀 ! Maybe add a wine fridge to your Christmas list! 🎄 💡 For the Parisiens reading this post, don’t forget the salon des Vignerons Indépendants which takes place in Paris this month (30/11 - 02/12). This exhibition is great fun, lots of really good Independant wineries presenting their wines to try and buy! https://lnkd.in/eQTeUu-g I totally recommend you visit: Domaine Siffren – stand F28, Domaine des Pierres – stand E52, Champagne Montmarthe – E42.
