o sempre guardato alla Haute Couture come ad un grande patrimonio culturale oltre che a un immaginifico spettacolo capace di incantare le platee del mondo e di vestire sogni e giorni speciali. Ho sempre pensato che anche dietro quelle creazioni, realizzate con passione e maestria da virtuose e silenziose mani artigiane, si celasse la grandezza e lorgoglio di un Paese. Ho capito tutto lo sforzo e la pesante ricerca della pi bella industria del mondo, quella dei tessuti capaci di far volare in alto, con aerea leggerezza, la creativit dei migliori designers. Ho conosciuto lo sforzo che precede accompagna e segue una collezione di alta moda, sia essa realizzata da stilisti di fama internazionale come dai pi palpitanti talenti emergenti. Ho esplorato back stage e annusato laria, cercando di capire. Mi sono incuriosita, divertita, a volte emozionata e commossa davanti a grandi sfilate di altrettanto grande alta moda. Ed per questo che ho faticato non poco a dire di s ad un editore coraggioso che mi chiedeva di prender in mano una pubblicazione come Book Moda che da sempre segue con attenzione e passione questo straordinario mondo. Lho fatto pensando con affetto a chi mi ha preceduto e a voi che oggi continuate ad accompagnare noi in questo straordinario cammino. Siamo una piccola ma fortissima squadra che ci sta gi mettendo il cuore. Dateci una mano per continuare a crescere insieme e perdonateci gli errori se, allinizio, ci saranno. Perch, come dice il proverbio orientale, ogni grande viaggio comincia con un piccolo passo. Il nostro nella storia di Book Moda inizia oggi, non senza emozione, insieme a tutti voi. have always seen haute couture as a massive cultural legacy, as well as a creative spectacle, with which to enchant the audiences of the world with dreamy clothes for special days. Moreover, I have always thought that hidden behind those creations made with passion and mastery by the expert, silent hands of skilled artisans lays the greatness and pride of a country. I have realised all the effort made and research done by this most wonderful industry in fabrics of aerial lightness with the creativity of the best designers. I have seen the effort that precedes, accompanies and follows an haute couture collection, whether by a designer of international fame or a nervous emerging talent. I have explored back stage, sniffing the air, trying to understand. I have been curious, amused and sometimes much moved by the great fashion shows of that equally great haute couture. That is why I thought long and hard before accepting the editorship of a magazine like Book Moda, which has always followed this extraordinary world closely and with passion. I accepted in affection for the preceding editor and for you readers who today continue to accompany us along this extraordinary path. We are a small but extremely strong team but who are already totally committed. Help us to continue to grow together and excuse any errors there just might be at the beginning. Because, as the oriental proverb says, every great journey starts with a small step. My part in the history of Book Moda starts, not without emotion, today together with all of you.

C lidea di nomadismo raffinato visto dallocchio di un cittadino del mondo e anche per questo ho voluto intitolare la mia nuova collezione Armani Priv, Echi di Etnie. Stampe, colori, disegni su sete jacquard, drappeggi che guardano a culture lontane, proprio come i gioielli e le borse. Ho voluto aggiungere il decoro di un bastone, quasi uno scettro per illuminare un drappeggio o chiudere un nodo del tessuto: un tocco eccentrico ma regale in una collezione che rappresenta un passo in avanti nel mio personale viaggio nella Haute Couture Giorgio Armani

There is the idea of refined nomadism from the point of view of a world citizen; therefore I wanted to title my new Armani Priv collection Echi di Etnie. Prints, colours, patterns on jacquard silks, drapes from far cultures as well as jewels and bags. I wanted to add the decoration of a cane, almost a sceptre, to illuminate drapes or to fasten a fabric knot: its an eccentric but regal touch in a collection representing a step forward in my personal journey throughout Haute Couture Giorgio Armani

Ho voluto che il Grand Palais si trasformasse questa volta in un bosco immaginifico circondato da un anfiteatro in legno. Non un luogo reale ma soltanto una mia visione. Desideravo che le mannequins si muovessero come ninfe in un'atmosfera luminosa e siderale. Ho scelto solo due silhouette: una pi affusolata e a matita e laltra balloon. This time I wanted the Grand Palais to be an imaginative forest surrounded by a wooden amphitheatre. Not a real place, but only my own vision. I wanted mannequins like nymphs in a luminous and sidereal atmosphere. I selected only two silhouettes: the first more tapering and pencilshaped, the second balloon-like. Archiviato lamatissimo accessorio, vintage rispetto ai pi moderni e decorativi anelli, la scena che accompagna il suo arrivo, per, resta sempre la stessa. Couturier, fotografo, artista e collezionista, bibliofilo e poliglotta, Lagerfeld da trentanni saldamente al timone creativo di Chanel, la Maison fondata dalla

Io credo anche di essere fortunato. Amo quello che faccio e le persone con cui lo faccio. Tutto cos diventa straordinariamente semplice. Anche le scenografie mozzafiato allestite per i defil couture di stagione in stagione al Grand Palais: quasi dei racconti immaginifici e mozzafiato. Lultimo in ordine di tempo, ricreato per la nuova collezione Haute Couture primavera estate 2013, un bosco incantato circondato da un anfiteatro in legno non lontano dal mare, stando alla passerella di sabbia scaricata da un inarrestabile via vai di camion.
