We are pleased to announce the successful completion of the first GSTC Sustainable Tourism Training Program (STTP) in Amman, Jordan. This comprehensive 3-day training program took place from Monday, July 29th to Wednesday, July 31st, 2024, at the Corp Amman Hotel. The program was designed to equip participants with the essential knowledge and tools to enhance sustainability practices within the travel and tourism industry. Participants engaged in comprehensive sessions covering the GSTC Criteria, the global baseline standards for sustainability in travel and tourism and explored best practices for both businesses and destinations. The GSTC Sustainable Tourism Training Program (STTP) provides the knowledge and tools needed to help improve sustainability practices in travel and tourism. The training covers the GSTC Criteria, the global baseline standards for sustainability in travel and tourism, and provides best practices for businesses and destinations. The interactive training will be in Arabic, and will help you achieve tangible actions that fulfill the globally recognized standard of sustainability best practices. At the end of the course, participants who completed the full training program will receive an attendance certificate from the GSTC. Participants can also take an online exam (optional) within a month of completing the training program to receive a Professional Sustainable Tourism Certificate. - Who should participate: Accommodations (hotel, camp, guest house...etc.), Tour operators, Restaurants, Tourism boards/ tourist destination management, Governmental entities working in/with the tourism sector, Tourism and cooperative associations working in the tourism sector, Civil society/non-profit organizations, Tourism professionals and consultants, Tourist guides, Providers of tourism activities and experiences, Handicraft owners, Academia/education/research. Nastadeem, the sustainable tourism arm of EcoHotels, participated in The Rotary District 2452 Conference held at the St. Regis Hotel in Amman from June 27 to June 29, 2024. The event brought together 336 delegates from the UAE, Lebanon, Cyprus, Georgia, Armenia, Jordan, and Palestine, along with local dignitaries, diplomats, and guests to discuss critical environmental issues under the theme "Think Green, Live Green." The conference was under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Basma bint Ali. Representing Nastadeem, CEO Nabil Tarazi presented a session on eco-tourism, showcasing Feynan Ecolodge as a success story along with The Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN) represented by Strategic Development Director - Mervat Batarseh.
