Open source software is at the heart of Apple platforms and developer tools. We are looking for a software engineer to join our passionate, collaborative, distributed team. The Open Source Program Office is focused on enabling use, contributions, adoption, and release of open source software at Apple. We partner Apple-wide to support open source strategy and operations. Our responsibilities include streamlining and automating open source workflows, educating teams, supporting project growth, and gathering and reporting metrics. Description

As an experienced engineer in our Open Source Program Office, you will develop tooling and automate infrastructure to support open source operations across the company. You’ll build highly-visible solutions to streamline and report on open source usage, contributions, and releases. Drawing from your experience, you will educate and guide internal engineering teams on their open source initiatives. With a balance of passion and pragmatism, you’ll integrate software systems, automate workflows using API-oriented approaches, and manage cloud infrastructure. Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of relevant industry experience
  • Strong track record of contributing to and engaging with open source projects
  • Experience writing applications in multiple programming languages (e.g. Swift, Javascript, Python, etc)
  • Experience operating and developing infrastructure and services in public cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Experience with open source tools such as GitHub, package managers, and CI systems

  • Experience integrating systems and automating workflows using API-oriented approaches
