Since 1996, the IPBA Scholarship Program has welcomed 200 lawyers from around the world to our Annual Meeting & Conference. At the conference, Scholars learn from key members of the legal community of the Asia-Pacific region through a series of receptions, lectures, workshops, and social events. Afterwards, Scholars enjoy 3 years of IPBA membership and are invited to build a strong network with other past and future Scholars. This program aims to provide Scholars with substantial tools and cross-border knowledge to help them build their careers in their home country. Applications are now being accepted for Scholars to attend our Annual Meeting and Conference in Chicago, 2025. At the IPBA Annual Conference in Tokyo, we celebrated our relationship with AIJA by signing an updated MOU with no fixed end date. We were happy to welcome AIJA President Eduardo De la Peña Bernal to the conference where he attended a lunch with the Next Generation Committee. We look forward to our continued collaboration!

The IPBA and the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA) first signed an MOU at the 2013 IPBA Annual Conference in Seoul. Since then, the MOU has been extended every 2 years. This year, at the IPBA Annual Conference in Tokyo, we celebrated our continued collaborative relationship by signing an updated MOU with no fixed end date. We were happy to welcome AIJA President Eduardo De la Peña Bernal to the conference where he kindly attended a lunch with the Next Generation Committee. We look forward to our continued collaboration!

The latest IPBA Webinar is now available for viewing on the IPBA website: https://lnkd.in/gtuJP7v4 This webinar focused on preparing newly qualified lawyers and law students for practice as cross-border transactional lawyers. The panellists explored some of the unique skills required of transactional lawyers, how young lawyers can self-train and prepare themselves for cross-border transactional work, and how senior practitioners can train and nurture the next generation of cross-border transactional lawyers.
