[Kawasaki announced its release of the “Unified-Edition” E-series steering gear, which realizes improvements via steering equipment optimization and labor savings.]   The Unified-Edition is a package-type product combining steering gear, a control box and other components that used to be installed separately onboard. Vessel maneuvering machinery, which controls the rudder and thus the course of the marine vessel, comprises various components including steering gear, control boxes, a rudder angle indicator and more. These components are normally made by different manufacturers and then integrated into a single system, which means shipbuilders and shipowners must coordinate with multiple manufacturers in regard to specifications, maintenance operations and the like each time the need arises. ［Kawasaki Releases a Tension Monitoring System for Mooring Line for Its Safe Berthing/Unberthing Assist System］   Kawasaki announced its release of a Tension Monitoring System for Mooring Line designed to improve safety and work efficiency in ship mooring tasks and related management operations for ships docked at wharfs and similar locations.   This system enables remote monitoring of mooring line tension in locations away from actual mooring equipment, and it also integrates a sensor in the braking mechanism of the mooring equipment, enabling brake holding force to be converted into numerical data. In addition, the system employs a proprietary Kawasaki algorithm to estimate tensile force between the bitts and bollards on a wharf, representing the first-ever example worldwide of this type of data display (according to Kawasaki’s survey conducted in February 2024). Furthermore, the system can output numerical data and graphs in real time for winch brake holding forces in safe places onboard such as the bridge (control room) and cargo control monitoring room, and for mooring line tensile forces. [Kawasaki Builds Japan’s First 30% Hydrogen Mixed-fuel Large Gas Engine Verification Testing Facility]   Kawasaki has announced its commencement of modification and installation work for Japan’s first full-scale verification testing facility for a large, 8 MW class gas engine that will use 30% hydrogen mixed-fuel combustion for power generation operations.   The project will use a 7.5 MW output gas engine at Kawasaki’s Kobe Works currently utilized in power generation operations using city gas as fuel. This engine will be modified to achieve compatibility with mixed-fuel combustion using hydrogen.  [Mass Production of Off-Road Four-Wheelers Begins at Mexico Plant ]   Kawasaki Motors Ltd. has begun mass production of off-road four-wheelers at its Mexican subsidiary, Kawasaki Motores de México S.A. de C.V. (KMX). KMX has started with producing utility vehicles first, and plans to gradually expand the range of models produced there in the future. Located in Salinas Victoria in Nuevo León, Mexico, KMX will be one of Kawasaki’s main plants, with an annual production capacity of up to 30,000 off-road four-wheelers. In response to increasing demand arising from the expansion of the off-road vehicle market primarily in North America, Kawasaki has been making capital investments in our U.S. subsidiary, Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing Corp., U.S.A., and KMX since 2021. [Kawasaki Receives Order for H145//BK117 D-3 Firefighting and Disaster Relief Helicopter helicopter for Shizuoka City]   Kawasaki announced the receipt of an order by Shizuoka City for a H145//BK117 D-3 helicopter, the newest model in the BK117 series. This will be delivered in March 2026, and used as a Firefighting and Disaster Relief Helicopter. This order is the fourth D-3 to be used for Firefighting and Disaster Relief Helicopter use, and the twenty-seventh order Kawasaki received overall.   The BK117 is a medium-sized, twin-engine helicopter developed jointly with European company Airbus Helicopters, and is used for various purposes including firefighting, disaster relief, emergency medical services, law enforcement, broadcasting, and personnel and cargo transport. Following delivery of the first model in 1983, this helicopter has been continually improved over the years, and thanks to the aircraft's outstanding technological strengths and high reliability, Kawasaki has successfully delivered 196 units as of today, and more than 1,900 worldwide with deliveries of Airbus Helicopters combined．   Kawasaki will continue to improve the BK117 helicopter, including the development of new optional equipment for various applications.
