    We are thrilled to announce that Sony AI has received the "Best Overall Use of AI in Gaming" award in the seventh annual 2024 AI Breakthrough Awards. This recognition celebrates our innovative use of reinforcement learning in developing GT Sophy, an AI agent integrated into Gran Turismo 7 (GT7) on PlayStation®. GT Sophy was designed to challenge and enhance the gaming experience by competing with top human drivers using advanced AI techniques. Our team developed a novel deep reinforcement learning approach, Quantile Regression Soft Actor-Critic, enabling GT Sophy to master three critical driving skills: Race Car Control, Racing Tactics, and Racing Etiquette. This sophisticated AI can handle over 340 cars on nine tracks, offering players a truly formidable opponent. The recognition by AI Breakthrough underscores our mission to advance AI research and development to enhance human imagination, creativity, and entertainment experiences. GT Sophy 2.0 is a testament to our dedication to providing players with a fun and engaging racing experience.     We are thrilled to announce that our paper, "Not My Voice! A Taxonomy of Ethical and Safety Harms of Speech Generators," has been accepted for presentation at the ACM Conference on Fairness, Accountability, and Transparency #ACMFAccT🎉 This research addresses the significant ethical and safety risks posed by AI-generated human speech, often used in malicious activities such as swatting, identity theft, and unauthorized voice use. By analyzing real-world incidents, we developed a conceptual framework and taxonomy to categorize these harms, providing a comprehensive understanding of how these risks arise and affect various stakeholders. Our groundbreaking methodology offers a relational approach, capturing the complexity of sociotechnical AI systems and supporting effective policy interventions. This work not only contributes to academic discourse but also aims to inform policy makers and technology developers in creating safer and more ethical AI systems.     We're excited to be at ICLR2024 this week. With more than 7,400 submissions and an acceptance rate of just over 30%, we're thrilled to announce that Sony AI has not one, but 10 papers accepted. Here’s a closer look at what makes each one stand out in the fiercely competitive field of AI research: 1. Consistency Trajectory Models: This paper introduces a novel approach to understanding probability flow in diffusion models, marking a significant step forward in generative model research. 2. Manifold Preserving Guided Diffusion: A testament to our team's innovation, this research showcases state-of-the-art (SOTA) achievements, enhancing the robustness and quality of generated content. 3. SAN: Inducing Metrizability of GAN with Discriminative Normalized Linear Layer: By redefining the structural foundations of GANs, this paper opens new avenues for generative models, ensuring greater stability and performance. 4. Detecting, Explaining, and Mitigating Memorization in Diffusion Models: Selected for an oral presentation, this work addresses the critical issue of data memorization in AI models, proposing novel solutions for enhancing data privacy. 5. FedWon: Triumphing Multi-domain Federated Learning Without Normalization: Explores advancements in federated learning, paving the way for more inclusive and diversified AI training environments. 6. FedP3: Federated Personalized and Privacy-friendly Network Pruning under Model Heterogeneity: This paper focuses on making federated learning more accessible and efficient, demonstrating Sony AI's leadership in privacy-aware AI development. 7.
