🚨 We are excited to announce that TDK's fiscal 2030 greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets are now verified by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). 🌿 The following #TDK targets have been certified: ✅ Target 1: Reducing absolute scope 1 and 2 #GHG emissions by 42% within fiscal 2030 from a fiscal 2021 base year. ✅ Target 2: Reducing absolute scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services and use of sold products by 25% within fiscal 2030 from a fiscal 2021 base year. ✅ Target 3: Encouraging 5% of its suppliers by spend covering purchased goods and services to have science based targets by fiscal 2028. To achieve these goals, TDK have been promoting the use of #renewableenergy sources. Below are examples that contributed to the verification: 🌱 Since July 2023, all manufacturing sites in Japan operate with 100% electricity from renewable energy sources. 🌱 We achieved the mid-term target of 50% by fiscal 2025 in fiscal 2023, two years ahead of schedule. 🌱 We aim to increase the percentage of electricity used by all manufacturing sites globally from renewable energy sources to 50% by fiscal 2025, and to 100% by fiscal 2050. 🌊 海の日 (Umi no Hi) or #MarineDay is a public holiday in Japan usually celebrated on the third Monday in July. On this special day, we are reminded of the beauty and importance of our oceans. For #Japan, an island nation, the sea plays a crucial role in the lives of the Japanese people. From food to culture, Japan has a deep connection and gratitude for the sea. 🐋 As we celebrate this important date, #TDK reaffirms its commitment to protecting our oceans and marine life by supporting SUIKI – a TDK startup. The oceans around the world are in great danger. #Climatechange, #plasticpollution, #overfishing are great examples of what have been harming our seas. But, today, we want to spotlight again a hidden danger: #PFAS contamination. 🦞The contamination of water by PFAS is one of the most pressing environmental challenges we face today. These "forever chemicals" pose significant risks to marine ecosystems and humans alike. Studies have found that: 💡 PFAS are linked to serious health risks, including cancer, cardiovascular diseases, infertility, and weakened immune systems. 💡 PFAS can re-emit into the air from ocean waves, spreading contamination further. 💡 These chemicals can enter our bodies through skin contact with contaminated water. 💡 Marine plants and fish absorb PFAS, impacting their health and, consequently, the health of the entire marine ecosystem. 💡 Humans consume contaminated fish, and fish feed containing PFAS is also fed to other animals, leading to higher PFAS levels in products like eggs and chicken. TDK is contributing to fight the PFAS contamination issue by supporting SUIKI! 🤝 Join us in celebrating this important date by learning more about this innovative company and its initiatives. 👉 Make sure to visit their LinkedIn page: https://lnkd.in/e-cqVp-y For further information, please find the links below👇👇👇: PFAS increase likelihood of death by cardiovascular disease: https://bit.ly/45WYg0W Forever Chemicals Seep Through Human Skin, Alarming Study Confirms: https://bit.ly/4bBLCpq Ocean waves propel PFAS back to land, new study finds: https://bit.ly/4eWomp2 Coffee, eggs and white rice linked to higher levels of PFAS in human body: https://bit.ly/3LoBu8J

🤖Today is Featured Stories Friday🌟 🚗Today, the #automotive industry is going through a technological revolution referred to as #CASE (Connected, Autonomous Driving, Sharing & Services, Electrification). 📱Because #smartphone interoperability is an essential part of this trend, technologies enabling easy wireless charging inside vehicles are being watched closely. 💥However... Charger units of conventional #wireless charging systems are often bulky. Additionally, there is the need to integrate #NFC—a requirement for virtual keys. 💡#TDK has developed an in-vehicle wireless charging #patterncoil that addresses most existing issues with smartphone interoperability. It does not only offer a thinner coil unit, but also integrates NFC antenna. Additionally, TDK’s new charging coil requires only one coil, while conventional designs required three coils. 📱 Why is it better to use Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors (MLCCs) for wireless chargers? 💡In resonant circuits used for #wirelesschargers and DC-DC converters, film capacitors have traditionally been used. However, advancements in the capacity expansion and high voltage resistance of #MLCCs have made it possible to replace film capacitors in such applications. 🌟Additionally, their usage on applications like wireless chargers, has proven to be advantageous. ❓Why? This comes mainly due to two factors: 💥 They have a low ESR, so they can reduce losses in resonance capacitors and contribute to improved #powerefficiency. 💥They are more compact and have a lower profile compared to film capacitors, making it possible to further #reduce the size of the assembly. 👇To learn in-depth about MLCCs efficiency for wireless chargers, check the tests conducted at the article below: https://bit.ly/4chQIbc #TDK
