Update from the field! Harvest has begun on our UNCCD funded pilot project in Kisumu County, Kenya. Our team is working with the smallholder farmers we partnered with to conduct measurements on these maize fields that will feed the results of the trial, including total yields, cob sizes, plant heights, dried weights, and lab analysis of nutrient uptake and plant health. The rock for this trial was spread in early March - and has already produced significant and visible results in farmers fields - one of the huge advantages of Enhanced Weathering in Africa is the speed at which rocks dissolve, and the farming cycles which allow for rapid research to be conducted!
