    By 2025, two-thirds of the world’s population may face water shortages*. Our brands work to engage with consumers and raise awareness of natural resource use. In the US, Finish partnered with Flume Water, a leading provider of smart water monitoring solutions, to launch the #FinishWaterChallenge, encouraging consumers to reduce their water usage in the home. Consumers in the US can join the 60-day Finish Water Challenge at http://spkl.io/6040f6dAg and pledge their commitment to conserve water by skipping the rinse in their dishwashing routine. When using Finish Ultimate Dishwashing Detergent, there is no need to pre-rinse dishes, saving up to 20 gallons of water per load! Finish is further raising awareness through the Every Drop Counts Water Report, created in coordination with WWF, to highlight the US’s freshwater situation and increase public awareness of the importance of water conservation.     It’s back-to-school season in the US, which means more germ exposure in the classroom and at home.    We are enabling access to products and education on health and hygiene to bridge the gap between science and consumer needs. In the US, for the sixth year of HERE for Healthy Schools, our brand Lysol has teamed up with the co-design lab The GIANT Room to create Lysol Minilabs Science Kits.     We have shared the actions we will take to significantly sharpen our portfolio and simplify our organisation for accelerated growth and value creation, following a thorough review over the last nine months. From 1 January 2025 the core Reckitt portfolio will be a uniquely attractive consumer health and hygiene business, with premium, high-growth and high-margin Powerbrands, including Lysol, Dettol, Finish, Durex, Strepsils, Gaviscon, Vanish, Mucinex, Veet, Harpic and Nurofen. The portfolio will also include likely future Powerbrands including Move Free and Biofreeze, and important local hero brands such as Lemsip, Airborne, KY, Veja, Jik and Tempra. We have a stable and resilient portfolio of strong brands in the home care category, Essential Home, which are non-core.     Health systems around the world are facing significant challenges. In her latest article, Angela Taha Naef, PhD (She/Her), our Chief R&D Officer, examines the positive impact of self-care and why it cannot be overlooked. Self-care is helping to reduce the pressure on strained healthcare systems across the globe – leading to significant savings in healthcare expenditure by allowing for the reallocation of resources through reduced use and pressure on healthcare systems. Angela goes on to argue that given the proven benefits and efficiency gains that have been achieved through self-care, there’s a need for an increased focus on improving self-care policy provides significant health, social and economic benefits to be more fully realised. “Everyone has a right to good health and hygiene. That’s why we fight for access to products, knowledge and resources to realise good health and wellbeing.” We believe access to healthcare is a fundamental right, not a privilege – our Hygiene brands Dettol and Lysol, and our Health brands Nurofen and Durex, enable access to products and education on health and wellbeing to help bridge the gap between regulation, science and consumer needs.
