Capacity Building: Facilitate activities, engagement, and support for young people to enhance their understanding, knowledge, and skills in relation to sustainable development, meaningful engagement, and the UN system. 
Youth Action: Provide young people with a platform and help mobilize resources that encourage them to lead, join, showcase, and share innovative and effective actions addressing the needs of people and the planet.
Youth Knowledge: Provide young people a platform for dialogue to create an evidence base for best practices through the assessment of existing knowledge, generating new knowledge, identification of emerging issues, and effective use and dissemination. Show less

• Maintain contact between civil society of all generations for specific events and ensures that the needs and interests of all generations are represented at the Conference.
• Work with the youth and elderly, encouraging interaction and the sharing of experiences along with exploring similarities.
• Organize youth and student events relevant to the Conference theme prior to and during the Conference.

The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) Stakeholder Engagement Mechanism (SEM) offers all non-state actors an opportunity to engage in the follow-up and implementation of the Sendai Framework. It creates an open and structured avenue to leverage the voice and action of stakeholders in support of the implementation of the Sendai Framework and integration of disaster risk reduction, prevention and resilience, and systemic into the broader 2030 Agenda. The UNDRR SEM is committed to building a sustainable resilient society for all, where disaster risk does not threaten the wellbeing of people and the planet.
As the Co-chair, I coordinate and aid in the implementation of the key functions of SEM which include:
Build an inclusive and broad movement for the implementation of the Sendai Framework;

Create avenues to influence policy design and implementation; 

Strengthen citizen-led and social accountability mechanisms; 

Promote coordination, information exchange and harmonization between stakeholder groups. Show less
