Knowing your customer needs and wants, knowing your market and competition is key. Practicing strategic farming keeping in mind the versatility of produce in regards to value addition is key. It helps meet different consumers needs and helps towards food security with minimal wastage. Knowing what to grow for a particular ready market helps avoid post- harvest losses which mainly occurs due to surplus of produce than the required quantity demanded. Having strict policies and measures that ensure monitoring of foods from the farm to the table helps in consumer protection from harmful foods accessing the market.
