  • On August 28, Korea Airports Corporation (KAC, 한국공항공사) signed a partnership agreement with Prime Asset Ventures, Inc. (PAVI) with an aim to win the ILOILO Int'l Airport (ILO) operations project in the Philippines. Led by the Philippine Transportation Department, the project is a #PublicPrivatePartnership (PPP) after selecting a project operator for the passenger terminal, ramp expansion & operation at #ILOILO Airport located on Panay Island, with 25 years of the proposed project period. Combined with newly added routes, including connections with Hong Kong and Singapore, a surge in air demand at ILO surpassing its annual capacity has triggered the need for renovation and expansion. To win this great opportunity, KAC and PAVI, a real estate development and public utility specialist, created a consortium to submit a joint proposal. We hope this visit, led by KAC Executive Vice President Jeong Ki LEE, will help deepen collaboration and increase the chance of winning the project. KAC and PAVI will greatly benefit from each other's expertise and strength! #PAVI #KoreaAirportsCorporation #PrimeAssetVenturesInc. #ILOILOAIRPORT #PartnershipwiththePhillippines

  • Korea Airports Corporation (KAC, 한국공항공사) warmly welcomed an International Civil Aviation Organization trainee delegation to Gimpo International Airport during their visit to Korea through the 2024 ROK-ICAO Training Programme for Aviation Personnel.  Launched in 2001, the 2024 ROK-ICAO Training Programme for Aviation Personnel is designed to contribute to the evolution and safety of the global aviation industry, jointly led by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) of the Republic of Korea and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The Civil Aviation Training Center (CATC) of KAC and Incheon Airport Aviation Academy (IAAA) of Incheon International Airport Corporation are the leading players in offering courses for the training program.  "Airport Landside Security" is one of the courses we offered at the Aviation Security Training Center of KAC (ASTC) and Gimpo International Airport from August 19 to August 23. The course, attended by ten trainees from seven countries, including Nepal, Cambodia, Fiji, Uganda, Kenya, Turkiye, and Maldives, allowed them to learn Korea's advanced aviation technologies, strategies, and policy tools.  The course also included a site visit to Gimpo Airport for a hands-on experience with KAC's state-of-the-art security systems. This covered hold baggage inspection, security checkpoints, the palm-vein-based ONE-ID verification system, and AI X-ray screening. The visit then continued at the Airport Operations Center, where trainees learned how the monitoring system and Counter Unmanned Aerial systems work to ensure airport safety and security.  "I was impressed by Gimpo Airport's cutting-edge facilities and security systems. I will share the advancements with my colleagues once back in my country," said Ms. Peniana Ceacea Waqavanua from Fiji, one of the ardent trainees.  We deeply appreciate your interest and interaction with us. Your participation in this program is a testament to your commitment to airport safety and security. We hope this experience will further hone your skills in designing and implementing preventative security measures on the airport's landside. Thank you for being a part of this journey with us!  #ICAOTraining #Landsidesecurity

  • We were honored to host a distinguished Kenyan delegation at our facilities! The Kenyan delegation, a team of five, joined by three from the #PublicServiceCommission of Kenya (PSC), one from #KenyaCivilAviationAuthority (KCAA) and one from the #EastAfricanSchoolofAviation (EASA) made a visit to KAC headquarters on June 11 during their stay in Korea organized by the Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT). The PSC is a Kenyan government body to manage human resources in the public sector with its mission to reform and transform the civil service for efficiency and effectiveness. The focus of their experience was on identifying and learning KAC’s training efforts and expertise in the aviation field. The tour kicked off at KAC #CivilAviationTrainingCenter (CATC), KAC’s mainstay educational institution in civil aviation, followed by #AviationSecurityTrainingCenter (ASTC), with specialized aviation security and #AviationTrainingCenter (ATC) aimed at nurturing pilots. We introduced KAC’s operational strategies for training courses and centers. - Highlights of the tour at the centers included: 1) Interactive Presentation: KAC introduced our operational strategies for training courses and the institutions.  2) Hands-on experience: The delegation had the unique opportunity to step into the shoes of a pilot and experience the thrill of flying in our simulation at ATC. Moving on the KAC headquarters, the extensive tour also offered demonstrations and presentations of KAC’s cutting-edge innovations, encompassing #BIM (Building Information Modeling), Navigational Aids, and AI-X ray. The tour ended with their last visit to #SeoulGimpoBusinessAviationCenter (SGBAC), the Korea’s first dedicated terminal for business private jets at GMP. They were amazed by the benefits SGBAC offers, including private lounges, exclusive CIQ, Customs, Immigration and Quarantine, faster boarding or deplaning processes and to name a few. Thank you for your deep insight and interest and the interaction with the Kenyan delegates added value to our ongoing efforts! #PublicServiceCommissionofKenya #SeoulGimpoBusinessAviationCenter #KoreaAirportsCorporation #CivilAviationTrainingCenter #AviationSecurityTrainingCenter #AviationTrainingCenter
