    LG Chem conducted the "Dreaming, Hope Green Box" initiative, providing eco-friendly sanitary products. 📦   Since 2017, LG Chem’s Yeosu plant in Korea has pioneered a sanitary product support program in the region, assisting a total of 4,000 female adolescents. In its eighth year, employees from LG Chem and local welfare centers came together to pack 500 boxes of sanitary products as part of their volunteer activities.   This year, the sanitary products are particularly meaningful because they are made with LG Chem's innovative eco-friendly material, Bio-Circular Balanced SAP (BCB SAP). BCB SAP reduces carbon emissions by substituting a portion of fossil fuel-based raw materials with bio-based materials derived from used cooking oil and palm by-products. LG Chem will continue the "Dreaming, Hope Green Box" initiative with hope that female adolescents can grow into healthy members of society.   #LGChem #WeConnectScience #SocialResponsibility

    Clay balls flying across the river? Introducing LG Chem's 'Fly Hope Ball' Initiative!   This July, LG Chem collaborated with Yeosu YWCA to contribute to the restoration of local rivers through an EM (Effective Microorganisms) clay ball throwing event. Approximately 70 participants, including Yeosu YWC youth and LG Chem employees, threw about 1,000 EM clay balls into the river. Made from loess mixed with EM fermentation solution and fermentation accelerators, these clay balls effectively remove pollutants and odors, improving water quality.   Following the event, participants toured the LG Chem Yeosu Plant, where they learned about the petrochemical industry — the backbone of the region's economy — and the environmentally friendly approaches to community development.   #LGChem #WeConnectScience #SocialResponsibility

    #Aerogel is recognized as the lightest solid in the world. It consists of silicon dioxide (SiO₂, silica) 1/10,000 the thickness of a string of hair, withstanding 2,000 times its weight and temperatures over 1,000℃. Aerogel is used in the pipes and industrial site facilities, significantly minimizing heat loss and preventing battery thermal runaway. Notably, its application as a thermal insulation material in space, energy, and EV batteries is rising.
