Kenethus Hurlstone Jackson

Kenethus, vulgo Kenneth Hurlstone Jackson (natus in Beddington Surriae die 1 Novembris 1909; mortuus die 20 Februarii 1991) fuit philologus linguarum Celticarum, auctor libri Language and History in Early Britain necnon florilegii A Celtic Miscellany. Alumnus fuit Collegii Iohannis apud Cantabrigienses, ubi rebus Classicis et mox Celticis studuit. Ibidem ab anno 1934 linguas Celticas docuit, deinde apud universitatem Harvardianam. Gradum professoris ibi ab anno 1948 tenuit. Fuit professor linguarum, rerum gestarum, antiquitatumque Celticarum iuxta universitatem Edinburgensem ab anno 1950 usque ad 1979. De linguis hodiernis sex Celticis atque de antiquis multa et utilissima scripsit, sed etiam de traditionibus, de dialectis, de nominibus locorum.

Fuit ab anno 1957 socius Academiae Britannicae. Quadraginta annos conciliarius meruit Societatis Toponymicae Anglicae (English Place-Name Society). Filius eius, nomine Alastar, est rerum Classicarum eruditus.
