PLAY CAMP SONGWE BUILD COMMUNITY + CHARACTER.
Through our innovative Freedom of Choice elective program, Liberty Lake campers experience the ultimate in enrichment activities all summer long, one week at a time. As kids ‘age up’ across our divisions, they gain more responsibility for creating their own schedule. Campers only participate in the activities they want to do, and are eager to participate in their selected electives—no ‘Jedi mind trick’ required (because these ARE the activities the kids are looking for…)
- Each week, Campers and Parents look at the upcoming weekly list of elective choices
- They log in to their online ‘CampMinder’ account and create a weekly ‘Top 15 List,’ in order of their top activity preferences
- They show up to camp on Monday morning, and like Xmas morning, find out what they got!
- They attend Mondays slate of electives. If they decide (3rd graders and up) they would like to switch out of any, are given the option at the end of the day – changes that will stick for the rest of the week
- Then, they enjoy participating in activities with other kids their age who have the same interests – it’s that easy!
Liberty Lake is proud to have a fully co-ed activity program. While campers’ bunks are single-gender, boys can sign up for Dance, and girls can sign up for Football. No other camp can make this “equal opportunity” claim.
The older our Liberty Lake campers become, the more choices become available to them when customizing their elective periods. If your child wants something more than typical summer sports, arts & crafts and swim time, may we suggest Fencing, Feather & Fur, Fishing, joining the Glee Club, Rock Band or Rap Group?
Our staff enjoy teaching at LLDC because they don’t have to spend much time managing behaviors. As kids choose their destiny, they are psyched to learn new skills and want to be included in the particular activity. Freedom of Choice creates an educational dynamic unique to Liberty Lake Day Camp. The secret behind our diverse programming: We hire professionals to run these electives, not amateur hobbyists.
Liberty Lake employs highly qualified sports coaches; art, music, and drama teachers; and other specialty instructors from the South and Central Jersey region. Instead of cobbling together a crazy-quilt schedule of à la carte specialty camps for each of your children (sports, theater, art, technology & science, etc.), diverse interests can be fulfilled at one camp. Our enrichment-style programming provides a stable summer experience for campers. No ridiculous carpool/driving schedules (we do the driving), no skipped lunches (we do the cooking) and, once that first one-week specialty camp ends, no starting anew the next week.
Our range of programming creates byproducts we know parents consider just as important as activity choices: opportunities to gain life skills and build character. Liberty Lake Day Camp transforms into a vibrant community during the summer. Our 60-acre village creates bonds between campers and fosters leadership. All while we immerse children as diverse as our programming into a 99% OUTDOOR experience. It’s the remedy to modern society’s challenges, counterbalancing the high-tech environment and the ongoing pressures of school-year obligations. And, oh yes—it’s fun!
