Internships are a great example of a win-win concept. 💯 This summer, we saw it first-hand as we hosted students from Germany for an internship program.  Economics and Informatics student Daniel Keck spent his time with the Corporate Market and Competitive Foresight Department. “I learned quite a lot, and the time with colleagues was invaluable. Use your skills and take it forward! 🚀 After the Innovation Day held this spring, our colleagues had the idea of creating a digital tool to capture meeting notes more efficiently. The Big Data and Artificial Intelligence team took on the challenge to find a solution that would make the material from creative sessions, events, and work meetings accessible to everyone without any transcription.✍️💻 Using the capabilities of the "Claude 3 Haiku" multimodal AI model by Anthropic, our colleagues developed an image-to-text tool that will be invaluable to all Festo Lietuva specialists. What does it mean to “take it forward”? 🤔 A great example comes from a recent AI skills workshop dedicated to the Business Assistant Services department. In true Festo Lietuva fashion, colleagues Ieva Naikienė and Renata Vaškevičienė identified a need and took the initiative to organize the session. With the help from Diethard Frank coming from Festo HQ, the participants delved into the opportunities FestoGPT and SkillGround tools bring to everyday operations. Interactive and highly practical, the workshop provided new insights and deepened their interest in the topic. ✅ As positive feedback flowed towards the organizers, it was clear that this was not a one-time initiative. When continuous learning meets international opportunities - magic happens. Or, to say more accurately, Festo’s “Spring School” - a program that boosts talent qualifications in digitalization, software, artificial intelligence, and electronic automation. This time, colleagues from different Festo offices met in Sofia, Bulgaria for a week dedicated to individual and group training. A few colleagues from our IT Department learned from peers and partner organizations that invited participants for a visit. “Festo Spring school was a great opportunity to meet and network with colleagues from all around the world. Activities like a hackathon for software developers allowed us to share our ideas and experiences,” shares software engineer Matas Grikietis. One thing is clear - cross-functional and international environment accelerates the learning experience.
